Man ... I Hope Someone Ends Up Buying This Girl ...

Wasn't really sure where to post this, but felt a need to make her situation public. I have a REAL soft spot for old war horses like this one ...

I came across her while rummaging through PedigreeQuery ...

Sure would hate to see an iron horse like this fall by the wayside.

She's up for $3,800 -- hopefully that should preclude anyone looking to turn her around for less than savory practices. Ideally she would end up with someone who could put some miles on her, if someone doesn't buy her for their broodmare band. I think she'll be alright, though.
And listening to some big out a' town jasper, hearing him tell about horse-race gamblin'.
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on a horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch?
Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

One thing for sure ... She's shown durability.

I checked her "year to year" records and she ran very consistently all of the way through. Year after year.

I hope this mare finds a good home but I hope she doesn't end up a broodmare. Sure she may have ran a lot and had a little success but her female family hasn't had any black-type runners since the mid-80s. The farm's website is very interesting. Farm's that want to stand stallions need to understand that if they want to be taken seriously, their website can't look like that. Can't tell if its the picture or if the stallion is sway-backed or looks like his front/middle/hind belong to 3 different horses.

Yeah ... While they gave a nice write up to Flame Cather, it's not exactly the greatest picture either.

Surely they could have groomed her up and gotten her a clear picture.

That would have been nice. However, I would have rather they'd taken the time to focus on her tootsies. Just, does anyone else see that? Her toes are so long compared to how short her heels are.

I saw that, she really needs a trim.

Looks like she has an old injury to that left hind too?

I noticed that. I'm sure she will find some home, although I can't tell much about where she is now based on the state of the website.

Hopefully she is living better than the cattle on the farm!
