Here's a nice article on two South American imports nearing both of their debuts for trainer Ron McAnally, both by the Phipps-bred Easing Along (Storm Cat -- Cadillacing):

Suggestive Boy has Phipps/Janney breeding top and bottom.

Imagining could not have been more impressive today, winning off by about 6 lengths in a wire-to-wire performance. They let him get away with a half in :50, and he just left them in his dust down the lane. Can't wait to see him back in the stakes ranks next out.
Fingers crossed that Spare Change runs well later on this evening.
It's certainly nice to pick up Dominguez if possible. He's so in demand, however, that that's often not easy.
On Saturday in Argentina, the winner of the Group 1 Gran Premio Estrellas Mile was a 3-year old colt called Evilasio - a son of Manipulator (Phipps-raced full brother to Smuggler) and React (Phipps-bred daughter of Monarchos and Perilous, herself a daughter of Educated Risk).
Another son of Manipulator was 3rd in that race.

Yippee!! Hope he and Easing Along continue to do well in Latin America.Suggestive Boy (Easing Along x Suffrage), another with Phipps breeding top and bottom, ran a good second in the Shoemaker Mile.

This weekend Shug will send out Air Support in the United Nations at Monmouth and Hymn Book in the Suburban at Belmont.
Also, in a very interesting move, Sea Island was supplemented to and will run in the Victory Ride at Belmont against Agave Kiss. She will have to shorten up off her two wins (at 1 mile and 1-1/16 miles), but - as the DRF points out - she's the only horse in the race that isn't going to show speed so maybe it will set up for her.
Suburban Handicap: Ode to Hymn Book
[I]By Arch out of Vespers–a daughter of champion European miler Known Fact–Hymn Book sports a pedigree that, at first glance, indicates a preference for turf. But his dam actually excelled in multiple off the turf events, winning the Memories of Silver Stakes on a muddy track at Aqueduct in 2002, and romping by 14 lengths in the Flying Concert Stakes at Calder in 2004 under sloppy conditions. Along with versatility, she bestowed her tenacious nature upon Hymn Book, her first foal and only progeny to race thus far.

Air Support,Hymn Book-- a case of seconditis.
Both ran well. I wonder if they are thinking Arlington Million with Air Support?.
Any chance they turn Admiral Perry into Shake the Bank, just kidding.....sort of.
There was trivia question on a Capital OTB show this morning. Shug and the Phipps's won the Suburban 3 years in a row. Who were the horses?
Both Hymn Book and Air Support are horses vulnerable to the shape of the race. I know this is a fan thread, but from a gambling perspective, I think they're both horses you have to hope you catch at a price on the day things shake out in their favor.
To the aforementioned quiz question, I'd say Personal Flag, Dancing Spree and Easy Goer.
I read somewhere the other day that Boisterous is going to run in Arlington's upcoming prep for the Million, which would lead me to believe that he'd return for the big race itself. Point of Entry is heading to the Man o' War - maybe Air Support (and Imagining?) could be targeting the Sword Dancer?
Has Matlacha Pass ever returned to the court of Arch?

I don't believe Matlacha Pass has been back to Arch. Her daughter Voyage (by Rahy) has though, twice. One product of that match is South Shore, a thus-far unplaced 3-year old currently in the stable.
On Sunday in the 1st race at Belmont, the 6-year old mare Adjacent returns to the races following a lengthy layoff for Mr. Janney. Trophy Wife goes in the 9th that same day (with Scampering also entered in that race, MTO).
Just in case anyone who follows this forum did not know, Point of Entry is the 5/2 ml second choice in the Gr I 11-furlong Man O War at Belmont. The favorite is Aiden O'Brien's Treasure Beach, winner of last year's Secretariat. Probably O'Brien's 30th best or so, but that's more than enough to be very formidable. Still, this is about as easy of a spot to get Gr I status as one could hope for. Would expect Shug to have Point of Entry ready to go off the 10-week layoff. Alan Garcia flies to Chicago to ride favored Boisterous in the Gr 3 10-furlong Arlington Handicap. Looks like Shug is taking the Million very seriously getting a prep over the course. I still think Boisterous ran huge last out given the lack of pace. Keeping my fingers crossed for two big efforts.
