Thread: My Yearling- updated photo

    Re: My Yearling- updated photo

Thanks! He really is a handful. But he's a lot of fun too.

And he got his name approved yesterday: Romeo's Valentino.

    Have you started breaking him?

    Re: My Yearling- updated photo

Yes, we've started breaking him. He knows basic lunging, long lining and wearing all tack. I've sat on him, but won't continue to ride him more until the spring. We're going slow with him (really, really slow....lol). Here's a pic of him from August. It was his second day with the saddle.

He's a pretty good size, which is one reason we aren't pushing him.

Hopefully, that's the view the other horses will see of him running down the track. So much fun to see him grow up, thanks!

Just realised he's got no inbreeding as well, very nice to see!http://www.pedigreequery.com/romeos+valentino

I hope so too Serena! Always nice to dream.

Here are a few other pics of Tino. I'm trying to find the one my mom sent me the other day. She had one from when he was a little baby and it's really cute.

I've said it before, but, he is just lovely! Can't wait to see what he does on the track.

Wow, he's quite the strapping colt!

That colt looks like he's more than capable of handling training.

Thanks again everyone for the really nice comments about Tino. Can't wait to get on him this spring; should make for some interesting (probably funny!) videos!

We just brought him in from the pasture. He had a busy morning chasing the birds out of his paddock.

He's a very nice looking dude. Gah, I need to get over my fear of riding tall horses(mine is 15.2 and she's too tall, lol) cause I will admit TB's are still one of my favorites.....and would love to compete on one some day. Will stick with ponies for now.

What a handsome, handsome colt. It's wonderful to watch them develop and grow into themselves; just when you think they can't possibly look any better they prove you wrong and they do.

Thanks guys! He is turning into a bit of a monster though. His mouth is constantly going...it's always bite, bite, bite (not to be mean...just being a typical colt). I've got my work cut out for me with this one.

I have to share Tino's new video. Some of my FB friends wanted to see him in action being the clown he is so I recorded one of his many daily play sessions with the jolly ball. It's just a clip, but he's such a character. Enjoy!

He is a beauty! You would have to be so proud of him. That mouthy stage is tiresome but they do finally get past it with time.

I have a weakness for a horse with a little white snip on their nose and his is so cute. Thanks for sharing him.

Thanks! I do love him and I'm relieved to hear that he will grow out of his mouthy stage. Definitely can't wait until that day comes. Lol
