Thread: Never caught one quite like this before...

Never caught one quite like this before...

She 'was' facing the wall, being saddled..one second, and the next she was nearly tearing loose. The saddle/cloth/etc went flying in one big heap.
They always scare me when they act like this, I'm so afraid they will hurt themselves, or hurt someone else. Thankfully she calmed down. Her name is Solo Piano, she is a 5yr old mare by Empire Maker out of Flute - used to be trained by Frankel.

WOW! Some great shots you got. Scary! Mott and whoever had their hands on the lead sure had their hands full. She was in the 7th race (turf) on Keeneland's card yesterday - came in 4th. Pretty girl

Those are very nice. Particularly like 3 and 4. How good of you to have a short enough lens to catch that ... or to not have 12 people between you and the horse. LOL

Very lucky shots LOL Nobody between me and the horse, and I had my 70-200mm I wasn't too close, but I went verticle so I could zoom in and get a few shots of her being saddled. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me in a week! Go verticle to zoom in for a shot, and the horse ends up in the air.

Wow! Great shots... but scary, for sure.

She ended up finishing 4th in her race, by the way. Her jockey lost his whip at some point.

Reminds me of the photo of War Admiral rearing in the paddock.

    Wow, Awesome shots BF!!

LOL, guess that Toussaud blood runs strong

PS, you should try & get 3 or 4 published so you could maybe get nominated for an Eclipse award. More interesting pics than they usually select!

Wow thanks so much for the kind comments! I am going to try and work on getting them published somewhere. That was definitely a right place/right time series! If I have any luck with publishing I'll post about it here

Very neat! I was trying to figure out whose bag went flying and then finally realized it's the cover on the videocamera.

I liked that filly, I took a bunch of her as well, over in the other paddock, didn't witness her acting up over there, lol.

Really fantastic shots. The third one is my favorite; I hope you pursue trying to get them published.

Thanks for posting this as I didn't! It was in the April 24th issue on page 5!

If you thought this was something, I'll have to show you some pics from Rolex -- I'm still reeling over those! Still get chills!
