Think he'll get 10F?
You wouldn't think so based on his pedigree, but I didn't see anything to dislike today. He's a big, leggy, narrow sort of horse that looked immature to me. The Cherokee Runs can be that way, though, so it can be a tad deceiving as far as their stretch-out potential. But I think he'll get 9 furlongs, and if they can get 9 furlongs, they can get 10 furlongs under the right set of circumstances.
I liked him a lot.

Well, they've been together for like 9 years. It would seem that they are fully committed. They're having a kid. Both are Swiss citizens. Can't understand what would be stopping them. If I were his girlfriend, I'd be pushing for it, if for no other reason than to protect my interests. She's traveled all over the world with him, supported him, given up her own tennis career (which was, admittedly, nowhere near as good as his, but still) and has grown accustomed to the lifestyle he provides. Make it legal!

Why is it so easy to go to the casino and start dropping bills in the slot machines, and then look in your wallet to realize you have already spent twice what you intended to. And the drinks aren't even free!

Having never been in a casino, I can't answer that for you.

Re: Last Post Wins
Friesan Fire is looking like the best Derby prospect at this point. The Florida Derby should tell us more and probably the SA Derby. Seems that the Wood, Blue Grass and IL Derby have been almost useless for getting the Derby winner for about the past 5 years or so. Some nice horses who've gone on to do really well post-Derby have hit the board, but none of the top 3 finishers in any of those races went on to hit the board in the Derby, aside from Street Sense finishing 2nd in the oddest Blue Grass ever run. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The Florida Derby is where we find out that Quality Road cant get 9f, and probably not 10. I dont have a boner for Dunkirk like the rest of the world does. Warrior's Reward did A LOT today to flatter him, huh? Oh wait, I dont think he's finished the Tampa Bay Derby yet. Plus, with all of the horses winning these races, running 2nd in the FL Derby might not get Dunkirk into the field. If Derby Fever hits the connections of horses like General Quarters, Chocolate Candy, Beethoven, West Side Bernie, etc., it'll be interesting to see where the cutoff is.
Old Fashioned isn't getting 10f. Quality Road probably isn't either. That's a question for The Pamplemousse. And Papa Clem.
Is this crop very good, or is it very bad? :undecided:
I think there are a lot of very good colts (and some pretty nice fillies), but I don't think a lot of them are going to win at the Derby distance. I just hope that the ones who aren't cut out for 10F come out OK on the other side. 'Cause it looks like we have some possibly really good sprinters and milers here (whose owners haven't accepted it yet) and they could be fun to watch in the future.
