I get to register for Spring classes in a week! If all goes according to plan (it never does), I'm going to have a pretty sweet schedule.

Senior Seminar: Collapse of Communism
Geography of Florida
Islamic Culture
Islam in Modern World

Re: Last Post Wins
Sounds like a neat schedule! I don't get to pick my classes for a while, but I'm already looking forward to taking totally random stuff. There's a forensic geology course that looks awesome. Hooray for not having a core curriculum!

I'm really hoping to get into the History of Ireland class. It's the first time it's been offered in two years, and I love Ireland. At least I get to register on the second day, so there's still a chance of getting a spot.

Your schedule? I always hated having my window on one of the last days because everything worth taking was gone by then. I really wanted to take this WWII class that everyone says is amazing, but they're not offering it next semester. Just my luck.

Re: Last Post Wins
Right now, I have all four courses Monday-Wednesday-Friday with Work Study and labs on Tuesday and Thursday. It's insane, I'm never going to do two heavy lab sciences + another science again if I can help it. Bad, bad idea

Re: Last Post Wins
If I get what I want, then I won't have a class on Friday and only one on Thursday.
Carly has her quiz tonight, so we need to put as many pages possible up. We can't have her going back and cheating.

In the state of Florida, we have these classes known as Gordan Rule classes where you have to write at least 3,600 words. Normally, professors use papers as a way to achieve the 3,600 words, and you have to get a C or higher on the assignment. My first semester I took four of these Gordan Rule classes. I had papers due on top of papers, and I swear I spent the entire semester writing. It wasn't very fun. :undecided:

[/quote]That sounds horrifying.. we're required to take three "writing intensive" courses by the end of sophomore year, but there's no way I'm going to double up on them. Right now I'm taking the Study of Poetry (it's a 200, another bad decision) as one, and I hope to take Classical Mythology as my second one next semester.. I do want to minor in english, but I really hate the idea of having several essay-heavy classes at once. I'm terrible at balancing my time when it comes to essays. :lipsrsealed:

Oh yeah, it was horrifying. I'd have a paper due in a class one day and another due in a different class the next. That normally meant I was writing two papers at the same time and hoping I didn't get the two mixed up.

Re: Last Post Wins
Yep. I'd rather just get a Bachelor of Arts in English, but all the other people I know with that degree can't find work at all, so I'm throwing Ed. in there so I can be a teacher if I can't find anything else.
Of course, all I need to do is write a bestseller and I'm set.
