The Arts and Letters at BEL -- and pretty impressively too. Took the lead away from Our Dark Knight (the fav) early, and went through some pretty quick fractions -- :22.56, :45.66, 1:09.88 -- before cruising home 4 3/4 lengths the best in 1:47.67.

Thanks for posting this -- I was just heading out for my daily walk and thought I'd check to see if there was any good racing news (as I listen to Sara (McLachlan's) Illusions of Bliss -- great song BTW!) and sure enough you supplied it -- thanks! Another good Afleet Alex colt -- keep 'em coming boy -- love ya!![]()
didn't see the race but i guess his trainer wasn't lieing when he said he was the best horse he trained. he might point him for the cigar mile if not the discovery.

Yeah, that's what I like to hear -- as Sara chants as I'm typing this --" without breaking stride!"![]()
Alright!! This is awesome. Amazed that he came back this well after the whole Travers and only one start before that and then placed in another G1 on the turf in his next race disaster. Sounds like he's gonna be one good horse though!
Found this.

He's such a good looking horse.
Hmm..wonder who's fault it is he didn't get a good chance to be?"He should be undefeated," said Admiral Alex's owner and trainer, Leon Blusiewicz

Definitely won't be seeing him in the Classic. I don't think he'd be allowed first off and second it seems like his owner might have learned his lesson after the Travers and the turf race. He entered him here which he obviously was proven correct he had a good chance in this spot and now he's being pointed to another pretty logical spot after this performance. Then resting him for a 4 year old career.
He is eligible. (He broke his maiden for more than 20k.) Only if a race oversubscribed could they keep him out.
That said, no way the owner will put up 150,000 to enter. I could see him being crazy enough to try the Dirt Mile for 30k to run in it, but probably not two weeks back after seeing his horse finally win again when running where he belongs.
Who really knows what this owner is liable to do -- seems like he's a risk taker and not used to having a horse like this.
leon is aiming him for the met mile. i think thats good because 6 months away which would give the horse plenty of time to mature and prep well.
Treat this horse right and he will make you very happy. A very nice looking colt.
Agree, a very promising colt that just needs to be treated well -- I believe.
cigar mile
book it.
next race.
Solid performances from both he and Friend or Foe this weekend. I preferred FOF's a bit more because I think he beat a nicer crew of horses (Wishful Tomcat isn't a slouch, nor is Icabad Crane, etc.), whereas the horses in here kinda stunk, but both are a bit more promising than were used to from them lately.
Well there's lots of smart ideas in books I've never read, when the girls come talk to me I wish to hell I had
It's not who he beat but how he did it.........just sayin'
