"Gabby" worked four furlongs in 0:46.80 this morning in preparation for the BCFMS. Last week, she out-ran E Z's Gentleman in a six furlong workout. Does anyone think she has a shot to win? I'm pretty sure if she wins, she would be a deadlock for Champion F/M sprinter.
She has as good a chance as anybody, I guess. Baffert is pretty efficient at readying horses off a layoff (see Midnight Lute), but this is a pretty tough field and I think some of the top contenders are going to jump up and run big. My Jen, Champagne d'Oro, Dubai Majesty, and Rightly So all appear very poised to win this, and I wouldn't overlook Sara Louise at all, either.
The thing that concerns me about GGG is her propensity for throwing absolute clunkers from time to time. If circumstances don't go right for her, I'm not convinced she has that desire to really fight for it.
