This is going to be an exciting BC. Not even just because it's back on dirt but because it's at Churchill. That place makes every horse look grand, I don't know what it is.
Speaking of grand lookin horses. Al Khali, Haynesfield, California Flag, and First Dude are looking quite handsome. Oh and as far as the ladies...Informed Decision and Rose Catherine are beautiful.
BUT still not better looking than The Queen. hehehe
Only three races have all 14 entered. And the turf only has EIGHT?!?! Arent' they usually able to get full fields for every race? Another thing I don't understand is all the turf horses entered in dirt races for the first time, and vice versa. If you want to try youre horse on a new surface, dont do it in the breeders cup. And what is Paddy o prado doing in the classic? Do his owners/trainer not realize he is way better on turf? At least Gio ponti's connections had the sense to put him in the mile. Sorry i had to get that out
Morning Line is the Morning Line favorite for the BC Classic that has got to be the kiss of death.
Some thoughts:
-There are six defending champions running this year. Five are female. This strikes me as rather remarkable.
-The favorites from both of last year's dirt juvenile races have returned and are among the morning-line favorites. I wonder when this last happened.
-The Juvenile is a sneaky-good race. For all that it has been made into a two-horse race, seven of the ten entrants are G1 winners.

I think the BC Juvenile is the 3rd best race on the entire card behind the mile and the classic. There are some serious race horses here. would not surprise me if a 7th or 8th place finisher is a serious condender in the Triple crown next year.
The Barnadarini horse from Europe scares me.
If the Euros are going to send horses that have a good shot at going 1-2-3, why spend all that time and money just to try for fourth or fifth money? At this point, I would think it becomes much more business than sport and a bottom-line-conscious owner would duck this race and find smaller fish to fry, the way horsemen/women do in this country whenever a race looks to be coming up tough.
I have not, at least I don't think, checked the full field for the BCT. Does it include Winchester? I know we could have come up with at least two, maybe three, more American entrents. P O' Prado could have had a great chance to win and I think Gio would have had a good shot as well. There are going to be some sore owners if Workforce scratches and some longshot wins.
