    Trevor

Is it me or is he getting sick?

    Re: Trevor

Sounds like it to me - although I'm sure short of being admitted to the hospital, he'll be there.

Same reason that Durkin has been brought in to supplant the local caller before. He's a recognizable name and the BC is entirely its own world even when it visits your local track.

Which leads to why isn't the regular caller not even calling the undercard races? I like Larry Collmus, but it seems like a slap in the face to the regular caller to not even be able to be the announcer for the the non-BC races.

Yeah. I like Johnson a lot. Miss him.

I don't know, but he is making ME sick. I wish they would leave him out west and have Durkin call these races.

    Re: Trevor

I am sure it is a contract issue, so it's not for you and me to debate.

I am taping the races until I can set down and watch them, so I haven't heard his calls today.

Being that I am in SoCal, Trevor is a favorite of mine and I like his calls. You can never win the debate about who is the greatest or least favorite caller.

Me too. I really miss Durkin, however, his race calling severely declined over the years. IMO there will never be another caller for the BC like Durkin in his prime.

I agree, but it's totally a BC event when they come to town.
And I'm a big Larry Collmus fan-he should call the races instead of Denman

    AGREED.
I wish they BC would just use the home track announcer. That would add a little bit of flair to the BC.

    Re: Trevor

If I was going to pick a race caller, it would be John Dooley. I can't stand the Churchill race caller, I always have to turn down the volume on my TV because he practically yells the calls. And this is coming from an Anglophile, so I generally enjoy "accented" race callers.

I thought Trevor did a great job this year.

    Re: Trevor

Thanks Lamb Chop. Ya can't please everyone in this game but I believe the vitriol aimed at some of the announcers is unwarranted. I also agree that Durkin was super!

I don't know when Trevor's contract is up with the BC but as far as announcing goes, I am fine with his calls.

I prefer Denman to Durkan, but I don't understand why the networks just don't use the home track race caller.

Seems like the home announcers are always more accurate-see last year's Kentucky Derby call. I'd like to hear Dave Rodman call the Preakness on TV,
