    She is a 1/2 to Z Humor(USA).
Old Pasadena won again at Tokyo 8R 1600 dirt allowance impressively today.
I believe that she is a very good filly. 4-2-2-0.
(It was a shame that this race was NOT run in Kyoto...)

Silly question, probably, but how many courses in Japan have a dirt track? Most?

To my knowledge, there is no racecourse which doesn't have a dirt track in Japan.

Interesting. Thanks! Am I incorrect in saying that there are more prestigious races on turf than on dirt in Japan, though? With a few exceptions (such as Japan Cup Dirt), most of the Group 1 Japanese races we see televised here are on grass.

And, obviously, the February Stakes is another big Japanese dirt race that's always shown in the US.

''Main Track'' in Japan is on turf. And most of the prestigious races are run on turf. But dirt racings are also quite popular and perhaps gaining momentum lately. (''Best horses in Japan'' are believed to be turf horses. But Transcend, a Japanese dirt horse who finished 2nd in last year's DWC, might have been a big boost to those fans who support dirt racings in Japan)

It's a mirror image to North American racings where ''Main Track'' is on dirt (or on synth) while Turf racings get certain fans followings.

Yes, on the Xpressbet wagering platform, it showed the previous race, the Tango S. on dirt, as being on the "main track." It is only the "main track" by our North American way of thinking

    Thanks for the info, Tachyon!

Here's a link to a pick of her (taken last year)

Wild Flapper looks a lot like Ghostzapper.

@CCRacing (Christophe Clement): "Just won at Belmont Park with first time starter Antonia Autumn, Gio Ponti's little sister!"

    She crushed the field.

Raise the Flag (Awesome Again x My Flag) was 3rd in the race Antonia Autumn won.

Yesterday Balladry, a good-looking son of Unbridled's Son and Storm Song, won an allowance at Hollywood:

Causeithertz '07 Giant's Causeway x Megahertz goes on the 4th at BHP

(That BHP, rather than the HP, is throwing me off)

^^On the same Hollywood card as Causeithertz, Versailles Song (UBS x Versailles Treaty) and Glamorista (1/2 to Critical Eye) run in the 7th. They face Reneesgotzip, so it's a tough little allowance.

Well, this could be old news...
But, Midsummer Fair(JPN), 2009f. Tanino Gimlet(JPN) x Strawberry Fair(GB)(o/o Storm Song), won impressively the G2 Flora Stakes 2000m turf at Tokyo on April 22nd.

    (Midsummer Fair: #6 horse)

Midsummer Fair, owned by Sheikh Mo, will run in the G1 Japanese Oaks May 20th next.
Strawberry Fair(GB) is at Darley Japan, like her 1/2 sisters Spring Rain(JPN) and Desert Chills(USA).

Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

Wine Princess (Ghostzapper x Azeri) is in the 1st at CD on Friday, Oaks undercard.

Divine Dispatch (full to Composure) is in the 12th race on the same card.

Pretty Please(IRE), 2009f. 1/2 to Planteur, won in her debut at Chantilly on Monday.

Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

Both La Cloche (07f - Ghostzapper x Memories of Silver) and Winter Memories (08f - El Prado x Memories of Silver) are in the Beaugay at Belmont on Derby Day. I'm guessing only one of them will actually go?

Souper Spectacular (07c - Giant's Causeway x Vertigineux), off for over a year, is back in the 4th on turf at Churchill on Derby Day.

Worth noting that Souper Spectacular has moved from Seth Benzel to Bill Mott.
