Last day of the Woodbine season

The last day of racing features Queen’s Plate winner Eye of the Leopard, Prince of Wales winner Alezzandro, 186 entries in a 13-races card, and possibly a daytime temperature that feels like 22F.

This is a once-a-year opportunity for plodders. Four locally-trained horses (Village Drive, Pool Play, Perfect Shower and Eye of the Leopard) will go against five shippers from New York, Illinois and Kentucky. It is a very competitive field.

Re: Last day of the Woodbine season

many of those horses are mere shells of what they once were particularly Alezzandro

BIG bulky fields of waiting to be claimed horses complicate the trips of logical horses

Often these closing days are dominated by a single style as biases, usually early, dominate

The triactor in the Valedictory prep came back again 1-2-3 in the same order.

    1st Pool Play
    2nd Eye of the Leopard
    3rd Helicopter
