    From Brisnet.com

After cruising to the lead on the far turn, HARISSA (Afleet Alex) drew off into the stretch without being seriously asked and went on to post a four-length victory in Tuesday's $75,000 Langhorne S. at Parx Racing. Owned by Gem Inc. and trained by Michael Hushion, the four-year-old filly recorded her third straight stakes victory in 2011 following scores in the Barbara Fritchie (G2) and Sleigh Ride S. Stewart Elliott had the mount on the 1-5 favorite, who completed 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:16 4/5 on the fast track, and Harissa has now earned $468,966 from a 14-6-3-2 line.

    Winter Memories eyes Appalachian

Winter Memories, runner-up in last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, is scheduled to make her 3-year-old debut in the Grade 3, $100,000 Appalachian Stakes at Keeneland on April 21, trainer James Toner said.

On Friday, Winter Memories worked five furlongs in 1:02 over the dirt at Palm Meadows. Her previous five works – including a five-furlong move in 58.70 seconds on March 25 – were done over the turf course.

“I think she’s maturing,” Toner said. “She’s put on some weight and filled out. I couldn’t ask for anymore. She’s really done well.”

This was the fastest 5f work of the meet.

It wasn't planned, but she had an unexpected target that she blew by. Supposedly she returned not breathing hard at all, though.
The Apple Blossom this year is going to be a terrific race, with Havre de Grace, Switch, Blind Luck and and presumably Life At Ten (depending I suppose on how LAT runs today.)

I think IG might have her confused with another "name" mare. I remember a few weeks ago hearing someone might go to the Apple Blossom and my ears certainly were pricked, but now I can't remember who it was.

No, I spaced the date. Mistakenly thought it was farther out. Mea culpa.
