Her name is PISTOLITA. She is 9 years old. Today, she makes her first ever start, in an MdCl2500 at Portland Meadows. Two recorded works this year, and an owner/trainer with no record. Argh.

Trainer John Sadler is looking forward to Feb. 1, when Grade 1 winners Zazu and Switch return to his Santa Anita stable. Zazu, a 3-year-old filly, was sidelined in fall with a shoulder ailment.

“We’ll miss the first quarter of the year and get them ready for the start of the Hollywood spring meet,” Sadler said.

It's Me Mom, with 4 stakes wins to her credit as she turns 4 (including a stakes-record-smashing run in the Minaret yesterday), is delighting her 85yo breeder/owner Tom Bosch, her 82yo assistant trainer -- and probably everybody else involved with her. :-)
