    Anyone know if this is true???

    Attn: Dr. Stearns, DVM from Barnesville, OH passed away and his son wants everything liquidated immediately, leftover horses go to slaughter this Sat- he has no heart. Pls Cross Post. currently out of 52 horses there are still 23 mares some with babies on board - stud is 16.3 TB Stud Conley Key. All free and papered. Friend is helping-coordinate call ....


    If it is, I do have a phone number. I'm not able to help but am not sure if somebody else knows who to contact...If it's not, my apologies for cluttering the board and admin can feel free to delete.

    I don't see a horse by the name of Conley Key, or anything too close to that ... not registered anyway.

    Well, there are now reports on FB that the horses are safe.

    (I'm a little bit skeptical of both stories, until I hear more.)

    I did confirm that Dr. Stearns did die.

    UPDATE to everyone of my friend new and old, to all those that helped me in any way they could,wether you adopted to refered people or offered services. Typeing this is soo hard for me because an era has ended. Harmony hills farm is no more. i am proud that its legacy did not go down with these beautiful horses going to slaughter. thanks to all of YOU all horses are now adopted. Bless ALL of you for helping me!!!! Please everyone say a prayer that these horses are with loving people

    special thanks to Katie who took so many. and to Bob and Teresa at the farm whom i ran ragged these past 3 days. BLESS YOU ALL

    Okay. Been doing a little more digging, and I now I do really believe the horses are safe. Two rescues were on site helping, and say many of the horses were taken in by friends of the late Dr. Stearns. Don't know that I would call these adoptions, since
    I suspect in time some will move on to other homes, but it's pretty clear now that they are all safe for the time being.

    23 thoroughbred horses in Barnesville OH need homes. Will go to Sugarcreek, OH this Saturday utimately for slaughter. Gentleman died and his son wants nothing to do with them. Most broodmares are broke and some are in foal weanling, yearlings, 2 y...rs and 3 yrs old most are gelded. FREE and papered. Friend of the deceased is trying to find homes 440-463-4288

    There is a poster on Barrel Horse World that has gotten several mares & some of the babies. She has helped re-home several more around the country.

    His name was misspelled, its Colony Key http://www.pedigreequery.com/colony+key

    It apparently was true, but was taken care of and the horses are not in danger.
