Nice large field for the San Luis Obispo ... It'll be interesting to see if Champ Pegasus can turn the tables on Bourbon Bay ...

As far as the San Carlos? Unfortunately a small field. If Smiling Tiger is on his game at all, he should romp. Not much competition in that one. I'm not sold on Mythical Power and I've never been sold on Ventana.

Going with Haimish Hy, should love the 12F

    Smiling Tiger easy

Why is the Obispo being run as the 3rd?

So I can get better lighting for my picture taking? ;-)

Although it appears it's going to rain all weekend, so that would render it moot.

It'll be interesting to see what the Obispo looks like if they have to take it off the turf.

Saturday’s $150,000 San Luis Obispo Handicap at Santa Anita has drawn a large field of 13, but the layout of the race may not be known until raceday.

That's a really nice field for the San Luis Obispo: Defending champ and four-time grade II winner Bourbon Bay, BC Turf runner-up Champ Pegasus, grade I winner Haimish Hy... lots of others with class too. Can't make up my mind who I like best in there.

I would think Smiling Tiger would steamroll in the San Carlos.

Hoping he can get a little revenge here ... Maybe they can get a little rivalry going!

Santa Anita often puts one of their stakes early on the card, usually though it's the 4th.

Surprised M One Rifle wasn't entered in the San Carlos, he's been working very well at SA.

That's a nice thought. The turf division was looking a little one-sided last spring when Bourbon Bay was running the pants off of everything.

I think Champ is right there with BB ... But he needs a win here to keep this "rivalry" going.

Champ got him in the Hirsch Memorial Turf and BB got him back in The San Marcos ... Who breaks the tie?

Well ... The weather was pretty nice here today ... I pray it will hold, but I've heard it won't ...

    So we'll see.

The Obispo will be limited to 10 starters if it remains on the turf.

It's raining right now, so unless it stops overnight this race may wind up on the dirt. Doubt we'll see Bourbon Bay in that event, but it would be interesting to see Champ Peg on the dirt.

If it remains on the turf it will begin at the 5/8ths pole.

Anyone have ''on-site'' details on the rain? Looks pretty bad at Los Al.
