Anyone know if Japanese stud farms were affected by earthquake/tsunami

All I know is that they are in the North (and on islands?)

I worry for the stallions. The devastation looks horrible in N Japan.

Tiger was nice enough to post this link on the Japanese stallions threads, first reports are good, although racing is cancelled for the weekend. It may take awhile to get a full report, and 3C's is trying to get in contact with people in Japan:

Runnymede breeds in Japan and reports that all of their horses and all the people associated with their horses are okay.

From Kate Hunter, who lives in Japan:

JBBA Farms (Silver Charm, Charismatic and about 20 other US horses) are ALL OK. Safe and sound!

Kate Hunter has posted a comprehensive list on her blog, with maps, of the farms and US horses known to be safe.

I wonder about radiation fallout if that powerplant has a meltdown. I would think the northern farms would be ok but not the southern. I guess, too, it depends on which way the wind blows.
