Thread: Black Caviar

    This is a hoot!

"...Speaking of bums, I must have a word with Big Pete when he gets back from the sales.

"The neck of a duchess and the arse of a cook," is how he allegedly described me this week! How dare he! I know I'm more bootylicious than Beyonce but you don't go making comments about my arse to the press - he even told them my weight!

Just wait until he gets home. Big, big trouble for Big Pete Moody."

Is she hard to handle? Does she cope with the racket and press of people at races okay? Does she like human attention? Does the attitude depicted in the blog reflect the temperament of the filly?

That half sib is a handsome colt. Thanks for sharing the link to her "blog".

The form is franked, with Hay List bolting in on 7f in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes, with runner up Hinchinbrook also being behind Black Caviar backside.

The trainer's wife has stated on Twitter that the stable doesn't support the "blog" at all and that it isn't the least bit representative of Black Caviar's personality or temperament

THE good news is you can finally secure black odds about the champ Black Caviar. The bad news? You will face a long and potentially nerve-racking wait for a return.

Black Caviar, rated the world's best sprinter, is set to start well into the red for the 12th consecutive time, in Saturday's BTC Cup at Doomben, in which seven rivals were left at yesterday's acceptance time.

Nice article about Black Caviar today. Apparently she makes public appearances.

Brisbane hungry for Black Caviar success

Black Caviar is expected to claim her 13th win in as many starts at Brisbane's Doomben racecourse. (ABC News: Joel Zander)

"Black Caviar, with an ever-growing media pack in tow, has made her final public appearance before Saturday's BTC Cup (1,200m) at Doomben.
The world's best racehorse is the star attraction for Saturday's race in which she is expected to claim her 13th win in as many starts and add another Group One to her imposing record.
Black Caviar had a strong workout before the cameras at the weekend, but such is her pulling power, Brisbane Racing Club officials organised Thursday's parade.
Trainer Peter Moody says he has been overwhelmed by the hype his mare is generating around the country.
"I think you could run a queue from here to Nudgee Beach with all the people wanting a pat or take a photo," he said...."

Does anyone know what time the race will go off here in the states? And where it can be watched? Thanks

From TVG's FB page: Don't forget, Australian Superstart Black Caviar runs tonight, and it's live on TVG. 10:50PM PT.

Cemented herself as the best horse in the world today.

Also confirmed herself as the Australian Horse of the Year.

I feel sorry for Hay List, who is a world class superstar in his own right.

    Re: Black Caviar

Awesome win by Black Caviar. The view from both TVG and the simulcast feed I was watching was that they couldn't pack another person into the Doomben grandstands if they tried. Do any of the Aussie forum members out there know if they have posted anywhere how many people were at that track that day? Also, I was watching the Morphettville races via simulcast, and in the first race, one over the hurdles, Ledgers Dream fell down rather heavily during the race and I was wondering how he was. I can't seem to find anything about him and it sure didn't look good...
Searching is half the fun. Life is much more manageable when it is thought of as a scavenger hunt as opposed to a surprise party.

    Re: Black Caviar

just over 20,000 on course at Doomben today, not a huge crowd but the biggest they've had in decades apparently.

Full race, with interesting commentary on the playback.

Gotta love the race commentary advice for Hay List: "Just go anywhere in the world where she's not."

He's a classy horse himself, who put away the rest of the field. But Black Caviar is amazing.

She's so much fun to watch. It's been a good couple of years for great fillies hasn't it?

Thanks for the link, Sunline. The simulcast feed I was watching showed him just for an instant after the fall, but from that brief glimpse I felt it was pretty bad. May Ledgers Dream RIP.

Definitely. I would so love to see Black Caviar run in the BC Turf Sprint, although I know that's unlikely to happen.

I went to bed early on Friday night and got up to watch Caviar live. What a wonderful sprinter that she is, clearly the best in the world right now
