Thread: Black Caviar

    Re: Black Caviar

She's one tough cookie! They do plan on her racing in November .... after a long well-deserved rest and recovery. Best wishes to BC.

"She's entering quarantine today, we're sending her home, but we'll be able to have the injuries treated whilst she's in quarantine," Moody said.

Moody added: "She'll now spend four weeks in quarantine and then when we get her home we will give her three months off and get her ready for the Spring Carnival in Melbourne in November."

Black Caviar is the bomb. She ships halfway around the world, gets a course she may not have liked all that much, a questionable ride by the jock (possibly), and sustains torn muscles in the hindquarters during the race... and she still won. What a mare...

    Re: Black Caviar

    >Black Caviar's owners will make a decision on her future in the next three or four weeks and retirement is an option for the world's second-ranked flat racing horse, who gained a status akin to a national heroine in Australia after her Ascot triumph.

Black Caviar went into quarantine after the race with connections of the crack Australian sprinter fully prepared for the fact that she may have run her last race. She just held on to her unbeaten record when she emerged best from a three-way photo-finish in the Diamond Jubilee.

Black Caviar will spend two weeks in quarantine in Newmarket, England, before flying back to Australia.<

The Queen is great. I remember the year Choisir went over and won the King's Stand Stakes and the Golden Jubilee Stakes, she was so proud for the Perry's, I think she came down immediately to meet the horse and connections.

A shame he has not had another good horse since Choisir or Fastnet Rock to represent us in Britain. He really was a pioneer Paul Perry, and took a massive gamble to go to Britain.

Nelly begins her journey home today. She was supposed to fly out yesterday, but the flight was delayed.

Tweet from Pete: "Black Caviar & Voila Ici's flight to Australia was unfortunately delayed by 24 hours so all going well they will be en route this evening,"

She's very fashionable, but how the heck do you get them in that?

Lots of zippers. Seriously. Supposedly you can get it on or off a horse in 90 seconds or less.

    Re: Black Caviar

She is said to be traveling well. Left Hong Kong a couple of hours ago, so will be in Melbourne in about 6 1/2 hours. . . . In fact, looking at the flight tracker, seems like she just passed over the largest of the islands in the Indonesian Archipelago.

Not that I'm obsessed, or anything.

You have to love how she strode off that plane. She owned that plane and everyone around (and you wonder what she said to the other horse whoncame off after here very hesistantly).

Gret to see her back and looking so bright after such a long trip.

Apparently Nelly developed a bit of a crush on her traveling companion -- Italian stallion Voila Ici.

A busy gal like her has to work in a social life when and where she can! She's probably just flirting, you know how those Italian guys can be.

    I love her to bits.

That's the link I meant to put in my post! Sorry about the totally unrelated link I stuck in there.

Yeah. A real Italian stallion. ;-)
