My first non TB foal will be coming within the next couple of weeks. I know she isn't having a baby race horse this year but so many of you enjoyed watching her last year that I thought I would post the foal cam here anyway.
Her milk is still testing in the don't bother watching yet stage. I will let you know as that starts to change over the next couple of weeks. Stayed tuned horsey lovers, this should be an incredibly gorgeous baby!

Maybe it the camera being closer to her and all, but she looks much bigger this time around. It also looks like her belly is hanging much lower, it's huge! Still very cute.

Don't start missing any sleep yet. She still has a long ways to go before she is worth staying awake for but it's fun to watch when you get a chance until she gets close. This is a new farm and the stall is at least twice the size as the one at the old farm. There is a significant blind spot with the way it's set up now but it gives a great view of the part of the stall she spends most of her time in. If she starts spending more time in the blind spot we will have to move the cam up higher.

I see that she still likes to stand with her butt up against the back wall and snooze - probably helps take a bit of weight off of her, she looks sleepy. Get some rest now momma.

She has trouble breathing when she lays down because the foal is so big. So she doesn't lay down much towards the end. She does her best to sleep on her feet but her knees give out and she starts to fall and has to catch herself.

You guys just forget over time! She was equally massive with the last two. Not sure about the first one since she foaled him in a different state. She will get larger still before it's over if history is a guide. I think I am going to switch her over to straw in the next few days. It's much harder to work with for the farm employees than the shavings she has now so I don't like to do it too early, but it does seem to encourage her to lie down more often. I guess it's cushier.

Calcium jumped from 100 to 250 since yesterday. Her pH hasn't budged yet so nothing to get excited about yet. I just wanted to let you know how she was progressing.

Tee Hee, I can't wait. I just bought myself a laptop, now this year I can put it by the bed if need be and keep checking on her when she gets close. No more stumbling around into the other room to look at the desktop.

Calcium is at 500 and pH down to 6.8. It's almost baby time! I am heading back to the barn around 10 unless she starts acting interesting before then.
