Thread: Ouch! Premieer Pegusus is out

Re: Ouch! Premieer Pegusus is out

I don't think they should push for a summer return. A good and reasonable long term goal would be a prep in November pointing to The Malibu and Strub Series. It sounds like he can come back is good shape but it's anyone's guess as to whether or not he will be as good as when he left. For those of us who had our weekend ruined a bit we can start consoling ourselves with the usual "blessing in disguise" view that he won't get burned up on the Triple Crown trail now.

And who knows, we could have a quality 4 year old to look at in 2012...

I sure hope he makes a successful comeback and caries on in the same vein. He's a good horse, you always hate to see good horses get injured. It's better for all of us if horses like this are healthy and in action.

    Good to hear. Thanks.

Surgery today to have one screw put in to stabilize the bone. One screw isn't bad news, as I understand.

Sad. The owner/trainer seems like a class guy.

Looks like Baffert made the right move with Jaycito, although I think Midnight Interlude wins this at a price.

totally bummed by this, at least he didn't break down..that seems the only silver lining. i am a fan of all his connections as well as the horse, they were all so thrilled and excited to have a competitive derby horse. not that i know any of them personally but i have seen several interviews as well as an hrtv special featuring his assistant trainer

I am not sure he would be ready for the travers. Talking about 3 months totally off that would give less than 2 months to get him in shape to race, and I would think they would want to get a prep into him as well. And that is if all goes well. If he were mine I would probably just rest him until early fall then get him ready for the Strub series if they stay out west with him.
