    TREVOR & VIC

    Hey guys.
For those of you that will be around L.A. next Sunday Trevor and I would love for you to come to live racing at Santa Anita.
After the final race there is going to be a charity "walk on the track" benefitting the City of Hope's amazing cancer research center.
Gonna be very cool. We'll start in the paddock. Walk through the tunnel onto the homestretch at fabled Santa Anita. Up to the 1/8th pole where the starting gate will be sitting. Great photo ops!! Back down the same stretch where Zenyatta passed all the boys in the 2009 Classic and right into the winners circle!
Leading the way will be Carla Gaines, Bo Derek, Chantal Sutherland and other first ladys of racing. Many jockeys and trainers will be there too and lagging at the back of the pack will be Trevor and I. If you'd like to walk along with us we'll both be happy to sign autographs, take pictures or just talk racing.
It costs only $10.00 to sign up that includes admission. For a $20.00 donation you'll get admission, the walk and a Purple Fight Cancer T-Shirt. Visit www.santaanita.com or call 626 574 6384 to get signed up.
Whether you want to " Scrape Paint" "Sprout Wings" or be " Straight and Strong" do it for a great cause this Sunday with us at Santa Anita.
    See ya there.

I would totally be there if I wasn't so far away in Iowa.

Terrific cause and I will be there in spirit.

Living in NJ, I'm so jealous that I can't get to spend time with these cool people.

You're preachin' to the choir, Vic. Already planning on it!

My mom had a mastectomy in 1962 and was told that even with chemo she probably had 18 months to live. Well, after a lifetime of dieting, she said "At least I'm going to eat what I want!" Well, over forty years and well over forty pounds later, she passed away in 2004. . .
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Don't have anything new to add. Wanted to get thread back to top. I know I know. That's cheesey. Gimme a pass on this one. It's for charity.

    I'll bump it for you.
Do me a favor, trip Lester when nobody's looking.

(just kidding, seriously, honest, he has been supportive, so he gets a one day pass)

WOW! That is impressive! Having been involved with local fundraisers in the past, I would call your walk a great success! Fantastic idea and what a deserving cause. Kudos to all!

It was fun and very upbeat (at least until Peter Lurie interviewed a woman who said she was walking for her son Jack--and it turned out he hadn't made it ). I didn't see Vic or Trevor but several jockeys were in the paddock--Bejarano, Talamo, Joe Steiner, and I think Martin Pedroza I saw--and of course everyone wanted their picture taken with Chantal!
