The man who complains about the way the ball bounces is likely the one who dropped it - Lou Holtz
Little wonder that Cecil uses cctv to watch him and breathes a sigh of relief at the end of every day.
"Cecil admitted that, even with 40 years of experience, with such a horse as Frankel, there is always a sense relief with each completed exercise. “Knowing what horses can do, every time he crosses the road back to the yard you think that’s another day, you relax and then start worrying again the next morning.”
I'm really looking forward to the QE Stakes!

Henry Cecil the perfect man to handle wonderhorse Frankel
"In life, people go through times when it’s not a bed of roses,” muses Sir Henry Cecil. “And I have too. I felt quite down, depressed, for quite a long time but had no intention of retiring as a has-been. It would have been pathetic. I like a challenge and you’ve got to ride the bad times, be positive. Overcome it.”

I like Frankel, I really do. But come on. 100m? No way. Maybe if he continues winning like that in his 4 yo campaign and stretches out some. But right now I see no way that he is that much worth.Frankel worth a cool £100m as superstar heads to Ascot for next assignment

British Champions Day on TVG and HRTV in North America
If you are looking to watch the British Champions Day races from Ascot tomorrow morning, both TVG and HRTV will have coverage of the event. Each channel takes the same feed from England, so it's unlikely they'll be any difference in the pictures you'll see. In past broadcasts of international races (Royal Ascot, Arc, etc), TVG tends to have their in-studio hosts provide some analysis of the action from L.A., while HRTV tends to just roll with the footage coming in from Europe. If you get both, you'll have your choice of American talking heads vs. non-American talking heads.
Post position times (Eastern/Pacific) are noted below. 8:50am / 5:50am: Long Distance
9:25 / 6:25: Sprint
10:00 / 7:00: Fillies & Mares Stakes
10:35 / 7:35: Mile (Queen Elizabeth II Stakes)
11:10 / 8:10: Middle Distance (Champion Stakes)

It'll be worth getting up early to see Frankel and So You Think. I'm glad SYT is getting another chance at a Group 1 after the Arc.
What is it about single-toed ungulates running around an oval for approximately 90 seconds that inspires people to bet billions of dollars and devote their entire lives to the activity?

I'm admittedly prejudiced, but I think Frankel is looking awesome in the warm-up.
Yes....Frankel!!

Scary good. Those were nice horses finishing second and third.
This one is better then Zafonic, Dubai Millenium any horse I will see over a mile. He took a while to convince me. He is an undeniable freak. No one can call the Euro bias to champions after that!
Wow, he is so much fun to watch. Would love to see Frankel in the BC Mile. Would also love to see a 3-way dead heat with Goldi and Gio, but that's probably unlikely.![]()
What an impressive performance! Frankel just ran away from two good horses.
I have a question for those who watch more foreign racing. Is it more common for the big horses to run with a pacesetter overseas?

Some do for the big races, Blue Bunting had Ruhm as a pacesetter earlier in year to try and keep the pace steady. Unfortunately that didn't work as another horse lead the field at a flying gallop, poor Blue Bunting never stood a chance! It doesn't seem very common in the smaller races or even in National Hunt if that is any help![]()
I'm thinking of flat races on big races days, in particular. I was watching HRTV Live on Arc Day and today on British Champions Day. I think Goldikova usually runs with a pacesetter; this year it's been Flash Dance. Frankel had stablemate Bullet Train as a pacesetter today, though he's had a few different ones.

What a horse! Any idea where a replay is located? I want to see that again!
May they run with the wind
