Alex Brown just tweeted: "Paddy O'Prado, injured during his turf victory" with a photo of the horse ambulance. http://twitpic.com/50rs19
Has anybody heard anything about the severity of the injury?

Crap! I was just thinking it must be one of Dale Romans' best days ever. I hope Paddy's ok.
Waiting to hear-
I love Paddy! Nice comeback race and he has a bright future
Again from Twitter: "BklynBckstretch: Spoke with Dale Romans re: Paddy O'Prado. He's on his way back to barn to see what's going on and I'll try to get more info later."

Dale Romans just said on HRTV he might have bruised a foot because the turf course was hard. He made it sound like they just weren't taking any chances with Paddy.
knocking on wood that it's not too serious and he'll recover fully-I like this horse
He said they had him in ice as a precaution, but that he thought the horse would be just fine in a few days.

Bruised right foot apparently. Will be evaluated by his vet today when he gets back to Kentucky.

I wonder if that is why he was lugging in so badly in the stretch. Ditto on the turf course being hard, it was labled good aka spongy.
Don't be so afraid of dying that you forget to live.
I hope he's okay. He is very classy.

It does appear to be nothing worse than a bruised right front foot...

There isn't a horse I had an easier time tossing all Spring than Shackleford. Congrats to Dale, one of my favorite KY based trainers. How he got this horse to run that far is a thing of beauty.
