Me too...as long as they were willing to finally run him at the right distance.

    Re: Bind

This is terrible news. He was such a nice horse. And Claiborne has big plans for him. I know Al Stall must be disappointed. Glad he wasn;t euthanized....Would have been awful But he will probably be retired. I doubt he will run again. They will put him out to stud at Claiborne and he may be better off if they do. He ran so well at the F.G. I thought he should be in the derby, but wasn;t meant to be. Hope he does well with the surgery, etc. Race horses are so fragile, i hate to see them run.

All the good ones seemed to have gone down this year what could have been.

    Re: Bind

He has a condylar fracture and people are acting like he's hanging by a thread. Hell, Proud Truth had one after winning the Peter Pan and won the BC Classic five months later. Stud at Claiborne? Who exactly is going to breed to him at this point?

    From brisnet.com

Trainer Al Stall Jr. said the surgery to repair the fractured right front leg of BIND (Pulpit) was successful and the colt is beginning his recuperationat Claiborne Farm near Paris, Kentucky, where the colt was bred. Bind suffered a condylar fracture on Monday during a half-mile workout at Keeneland that was designed to be his final prep for Saturday's Matt Winn S. (G3). Saturday's race would have been Bind's stakes debut after a dazzling maiden victory at Fair Grounds that was followed by close losses in allowance races at the New Orleans track and Churchill Downs. "The prognosis after the surgery is very good," Stall said. "Everything went well and they didn't find anything in there that they weren't supposed to find."
