I've thought for a long time that there's a shrouded portrait of a properly aging Cigar setting in an attic somewhere. ;-) He looks incredible! Still.

Thanks for sharing. He still has a lot of presence.
What a good looking horse he is.

I was having a crummy morning and this photo changed everything. Thanks you for posting. He is one of my all time faves and he looks amazing. Thanks again.
Here are some I took of Cigar last Saturday; he entertained the crowd by yawning at nearly every turn. At age 21, it takes a lot to impress this guy!
The last one is of Da Hoss, who is also doing great though soon to go on his summer diet because he's getting his usual brood-gelding belly!
Thanks to all for sharing the wonderful pics. Cheers to the good folks at KHP ... and all its residents.
Horse sense is the thing a horse has that keeps him from betting on people. ~~W. C. Fields
The" presence of greatness" is subjective. I wouldn't put him in the greatest catagory. Not Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Affirmed or The Bid greatness. Still a nice horse.
I don't know how people can judge "greatness" from one horse to another. Each era of horse racing brings different greats who may not have accomplished what horses previous to him/her did but it doesn't make them any less great, just in a different way. We will never know who is the greatest because we will never see them run against each other. They each ran in different times, against different horses and different circumstances and each proved to be the greats of their generation.
With each generation of horse the definition of great changes.
His name has stood the test of time. He is one of the greats in many hearts and minds. Very nice photos!
Greatness may be relative, but Cigar won eleven Grade 1 races not including the Dubai World Cup. He faced the top level of competition and beat them almost every time. He's definitely one of the greats.
He better be considered a great....we will never see another like him with today's Training practices.
