I don't have the stats of him being the breakdown king, but it's evident that the game has passed Lukas by quite a bit in the last half-decade or so.

Who mentored Baffert? I think that Henning, McLaughlin, and Stewart were also mentored by that same guy who mentored Pletcher and they don't seem to have that same problem!

I did agree with him on an observation: it is the individual not the theoretical breeding match up that he looked for. I suppose he would have liked the surly but talented John Henry.

I don't believe the owners abandoned him. Mr. Lewis and Mr. Young passed away and that is why he lost their stock and not to mention Mr. Klein dispersed his stock after much success with Lukas.
And I believe Mr. Klein dispersed his stock because he was quite ill? I don't recall.
In any case, I've watched Lukas' workout patterns for about a year and he's gotten more conservative. When was the last one he broke down? I suspect he broke down a number of them in his earlier days, but now it seems to me he's taking care of them.
