Looks like another new one for Sea the Stars...

Had to go back a ways, but here's some eye candy! Shoulder looks a smidge steep, but I can't fault him for much!

Did you mean when breeding time comes "around". If so, you're right.

Meaning, if they can win a big race (ie: Derby, Breeders' Cup, etc.) even if they aren't 'correct' since they ran through it, they go to the breeding shed.

Just look at Lookin' At Lucky. No one would have ever thought 'Oooh, let's breed that front end' if he hadn't been able to run through it so well. Now he's breeding a couple hundred mares a year.

Personally, I think that's the biggest factor in why TBs have become unsound. It isn't really the inbreeding or breeding for speed, etc., it's breeding incorrectness and expecting the horses to hold up and run through it.

I saw that on Fb too-love it! I know he's still racing but I was looking at Shackleford in the Carter today. He is one solid looking horse. Can't wait to see a conformation shot of him. I'm sure there are plenty of off track shots of him. Any body have any to post?

IIRC, she had a hard time getting him to stand up properly for a photo. If you had a lot of time and the right help, could probably get something more flattering.
