Meaning, if they can win a big race (ie: Derby, Breeders' Cup, etc.) even if they aren't 'correct' since they ran through it, they go to the breeding shed.
Just look at Lookin' At Lucky. No one would have ever thought 'Oooh, let's breed that front end' if he hadn't been able to run through it so well. Now he's breeding a couple hundred mares a year.
Personally, I think that's the biggest factor in why TBs have become unsound. It isn't really the inbreeding or breeding for speed, etc., it's breeding incorrectness and expecting the horses to hold up and run through it.
It's not a conformation photo but I HAD to share it. Three Chimneys just posted this on their FB.He's not letting his chunkier self stop him! (oh it's Point Given if you can't tell
)

Wow, that is a neat picture. Almost looks like the red was enhanced in it. He looks wonderful.
Wow...he's just the picture of health, isn't he? Gorgeous.
Amazing photo of him!Just set it as my background
I saved it and set it as my background too. I feel like there aren't many good quality photos of him out there as a stallion!
I saw that on Fb too-love it! I know he's still racing but I was looking at Shackleford in the Carter today. He is one solid looking horse. Can't wait to see a conformation shot of him. I'm sure there are plenty of off track shots of him. Any body have any to post?
Don't be so afraid of dying that you forget to live.
Here he is as a yearling:

Pretty upright pasterns but otherwise nice!

IIRC, she had a hard time getting him to stand up properly for a photo. If you had a lot of time and the right help, could probably get something more flattering.
