Sounds like a Hurricane is set to hit Monmouth and Saratoga on Sunday/Monday. I was told by a trainer he is taking his horses and leaving for Churchill on Friday because the weather may actually wipe out days at both tracks.
Fortunately I won't get up there until Wednesday.

I can't confirm anything but would guess that Monmouth is way more of a possibility than Saratoga.
I'm sure it is NYRA's fault.

If this storm stays on track, there might not be any racing at Saratoga or Monmouth the rest of the summer. Both tracks could get destroyed, especially Saratoga with it being so old. Monmouth Park is not getting wiped out by this.... once that storm hits the cooler waters it will slow down so we will wind up getting the occasional 60-70MPH wind gust that we get from nor-easters in the winter. Now Sea Bright, that's a different story as it gets the water from the river and the ocean!

I agree to disagree about the power and the flooding. The waters are not warm enough to feed the beast.... it will slow down, it will veer slightly east and it will be no worse than most nor'easters.
