    Danedream(GER)

    Danedream(GER), 2008f Lomitas(GB) x Danedrop(IRE) by Danehill(USA), won Grosser Preis von Baden (G1) 2400m turf at Baden-baden on September 4th.

    WOW!!

"She does not look like much but the way she has improved this season has been quiteastonishing," he said. "I shall now discuss the possibilities with the owners.

"One option would be to supplement her for the Arc or the Breeders Cup Filly & Mare Turf, and she is also entered in two very valuable races in Japan."

    Re: Danedream(GER)

This filly has improved beyond belief. Her victory in Baden is as easy as her win in the Großer Preis von Berlin, where she faced tougher opposition in my opinion.

Rumor says she will stay in training for next year, and will travel for her next starts this year.
The Breeders Cup Filly & Mare Turf was always a goal, and connections are thinking about running in the Arc now as well. I dont know if they really want to pay the late entry fee, though.
The Queen Elizabeth II Cup along with other targets in Japan would be great as well. The filly loves to travel and i think Japanese Racing would suit her. JMO

She's doing her sire proud, just saw a story about Lomitas and Monty Roberts the other day, it was good.

That was nice to watch. Lots of memories.

The story of Lomitas is like a crime novel. I believe that he could have achieved more greatness on the racetrack, if he had not been poisened by a still unknown criminal before a race, resulting in career ending pain in his feet months later.

Her next start will be the Arc. Good luck, girl!

    Re: Danedream(GER)

No surprise, a 50% share of Danedream has now been sold to Teruya Yoshida.
However, trainer remains Peter Schiergen and she will race on as a 4yo.

Future plans for Danedream still undecided

    http://www.drf.com/news/breeders-cup...nner-danedream

Three likely options for what connections will do next:
    - Rest her, and run again as a 4yo next year
    - Breeders Cup, either FM or Turf
    - Japan Cup

From what i read and heard resting her comes steadily more into consideration.
Im sure they'll do what is right for the horse.
However, selfish as i am, i would love to see her again one more time this year - if she is still in peak form, happy and shows no signs of tiredness of course.

    Re: Danedream(GER)

I'm selfishly hoping for the Breeders Cup since it's practically in my back yard this year. I would love to see Danedream in person.

I interviewed Monty Roberts several years ago. He spent a lot of the time talking about Lomitas. You could tell that was one of his favorite horses.

    From brisnet.com

Sunday's Group 1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine Danedream looks likely to race again in 2011, with trainer Peter Schiergen weighing up three options. Following the three-year-old's five-length success in the Longchamp feature, connections had suggested the Grade 1 Japan Cup at Tokyo on November 27 as an alternative to the Breeders' Cup for which she has been supplemented. "She could go for the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare, for which I think we paid $25,000, or we could switch her to the Turf," Schiergen told Paris-Turf. "The Filly & Mare is the easy option anyway. However, as she was been sold in part to Mr. Yoshida, the Japan Cup is now also an option. She would not be able to run in both, we would have to have to make a decision but as yet nothing as been decided. She will tell us where to go. She has come out of the race fine and eaten up, but was understandably tired."

    Danedream out of Breeders Cup

“We are not sure if she is going to race this year any more, but if she is going to race, she is going to Japan,” Gisela Schiergen, wife of trainer Peter Schiergen and an active participant in Schiergen’s racing operation, said Monday.

I really wanted to see her come to the BC, but I hope she does well in Japan.

    Update:
According to german horse racing site galopponline.de who spoke with trainer Peter Schiergen, Danedream will take up the challenge in the Japan Cup if everything goes as planned. The filly is healthy and recovered well from her Arc run. Connections already accepted the invitation:

Both Danedream (ARC winner) and Shareta (ARC runner-up) are set to run in the Japan Cup (Nov 27).
And, both Snow Fairy (ARC 3rd) and Dancing Rain (Epsom Oaks winner) are set to run in the QE2 Commemorative Cup (Nov 13) and also possible for the Japan Cup two weeks later.

    I can't wait!!

    Tachyon, please remember your camera!

I should start calculating the time difference NOW. I DO NOT want to miss this even if it's at 3:00am local time and I'm exhausted the rest of the day.

    Re: Danedream(GER)

She's "on course" for the Japan Cup, and . . .

"If everything is OK after her next race, I think she will stay in training next year and we can hope for another Arc." [said her trainer]

Would it be on a late Saturday night/early Sunday stateside? If not, I need to set my DVR.

West coast 17 hours behind, East coast 14 hours. Race is at 3.20 Sunday Japan time.
So 10.20 Sat night and 1.20 Sunday morn depending where you are. But you best confirm the time difference but daylight saving ended on Nov 6th so i believe the times are correct as I have posted.
