Thread: Danedream(GER)

    Re: Danedream(GER)

Thanks for the fantastic photos! The atmosphere there must have been astonishing, hope youve had a great day of racing tachyon!

Buena Vista the well deserved winner and one of my favorite horses (she is a descendant of the great german filly Schwarzgold).
Danedream will forever have a special place in my heart because of her Arc win, even if she may not win again.

Today wasnt her race - she closed fast, but had too much to do. Slow beginning, how unusual is that for Japanese racing? It seems the quickening after the rather slow beginning before the last bend wasnt favorable for finding a better position for the stretch drive either. I guess the "normal" way Japanese races are run (furious pace from the start) will suit her better, she isnt that versatile and needs that. Therefore i hope connections will decide to try the Japan Cup next year again. Most of the european 12f races will be difficult for her because of the pace scenario.

Tachyon, all the pictures and reports are MUCH appreciated.

Danedream was so far back most of the race. Hopefully that doesn't happen again. Wonder where she'll go next?

That was the last start this year. And i guess she will start late into her 4yo season because the Arc will be the main target again. I hope she starts her season in Germany, but i doubt that

    Re: Danedream(GER)

she did have a sucky post, and then apparently was bumped at the start.. i am sure the plan would have been to have her closer. she ran a good race under tough conditions for her, plus she is only 3...i certainly expect to see her in the winners circle again

Didnt read anywhere about it, so i thought about posting it here...

Danedreams dam, Danedrop, was sold to Coolmore. Her next partner will be Galileo.

Arc winner will bide her time and wait until June (?)

Danedream world's top-rated filly (128) Trainer Peter Schiergen "She has been doing very well on her winter break. She is developing a little bit. As for plans for 2012 she will start later in the season. Last year she started early but this time she will be out in June and the Arc and the Japan Cup will be her top priorities. We haven't decided yet where she will start. She will probably be kept to races over a mile and a half."

    Re: Danedream(GER)

If she really will start her 4yo season at the End of May in Germany, as the article suggests, the only possibility in my eyes would be Grosser Preis der Badischen Unternehmen (G2) 11f at Baden-Baden May 20th. She already won at that course last year, so i can see the reason in pointing there.

    Re: Danedream(GER)

I have come across a video of Peter Schiergen who gives an interview to France-Sire.tv.
He mentions Baden-Baden in May, then France, England and Italy before coming back to the Arc to defend her title.

Danedream has been voted German Horse of the Year for 2011 by a huge margin.

    P. d. Bad. Unternehmer - G2 20.05.2012
    2200m / 11f

    1. Danedream
    2. Ovambo Queen
    3. Silvaner

    10 ran.

Won by about a length, tired a little at the end. Nevertheless nice comeback race. I was a little sceptical beforehand (transition from 3yo to 4yo is sometimes difficult for fillies with a hard 3yo campaign, plus she was the topweight) and im relieved and happy now. Oh and Ovambo Queen seems to be on the verge of becoming the 2nd best mare in the country. Super consistent.

Thanks Cantant for sharing the replay!

Even if I don't understand German, I am familiar with her silk at least.
Racecaller repeated ''Danedream, Danedream, Danedream!!'' as she crossed the finish line first. I realy loved it. Danedream is a real champion and everyone must have been very happy with her victory after the layoff.
It was also very nice to see Andrasch Starke, Peter Schiergen and Ilke Hildebrand(?) take Danedream to winner's circle. I think that they are a great team.

And I agree with all that you have said, Cantant.
That was a nice comeback race for her.
I am sure that she will have another great year!!

Chanting as she come across the line reminds me of when her sire, Lomitas, used to win, they did the same thing- screaming out his name as he came home. She's something special.

I missed the actual race, but thank you for the replay, Cantant. Really looking forward to following Danedream this year.

    Re: Danedream(GER)

    Next target as of now:
24.06.2012 Grand Prix de Saint Cloud (G1), France

Germany's only winner in this race: Acatenango, 1986.

I dont know if a possible small field and likely slow pace will be good for her, but lets hope the best!

Just as a side note, Baden-Baden looks very nice. Thanks for posting.

    Trainer Schiergen about todays race:
"I am not worried about the ground - she won on heavy last year at Baden-Baden and on fast ground in the Arc - she can handle anything. It's a small field and I just hope it's a proper-run race."
