I don't know why there is so much concern about breeding RA back this year. She most likely will not cycle for awhile. It's nature's way of letting her heal and recover.

I am so happy to hear that Rachel is doing much better.Been really worried about her. Thanks for all the info all of you on the forum gave on Rachel. I feel better now knowing she is doing better and ate a little, too. I hope she doesn;t get bred this year. Would be way too much for her, i;m sure. I know she;s not a pet, and she;s worth millions, and will be bred back again. Just hope her foals aren;t so big. It seems to be a problem for her. I misspelled her name as i was in a hurry going to the Fair Grounds for their races, but stopped in the library just to check on her status, as i was so worried about her. Saw Steve Asmussen on Sun, and i asked him about her and he told me she;s doing much better today. I don;t have a computer right now and go to the library to find out about her.But i do know her name, and should and she;s one of my very favorites horses, ever.Get Well Rachel, and her lil foal is so cute, too.
Outside this afternoon with Drs. Woodie and Barr, and a look that will still raise the rafters

I'm in love with her all over again after looking at that picture today! What a beautiful eye!! So glad she's rallying!

I love the big smile on Dr. Woodie. It makes me feel a bit more relieved that she's doing better each day. What an expression on her face and her mane blowing in the wind. She is truly Ms. Magnificence.
Thank you so much for posting this magnificent picture, Old Bones.

Rood & Riddle does not plan an update Feb. 19 unless a change in Rachel Alexandra's condition occurs. The next scheduled update is Feb. 20.

If Rachel was mine, I wouldnt breed her again. But thats my opinion.![]()
If you are going to be at FG this weekend, I just saw that the track is hanging a big 15-ft "Get Well Soon, Rachel" banner in the paddock for fans to sign!

Thanks second glance for the great info. I definitely hope to be there and even on Thurs. and Fri. nite for the nite racing. This is so great that they are doing this. She is one of the best horses to race at the F.G. and being HOTY while she was here. I will sign and hope many others will, too. I've got to see that banner. So happy she is doing better. Love the photo. She looks great. You wouldn;t know she;s been ill to look at her stunning face. She's a doll. We also have the Rachel Alexandra Stakes on Sat. and i will wear both of my RA buttons that i have in support of her. May wear them the whole weekend. Thanks for all the RA info.
I will try to sign something on the Rachel banner for all the people on the forum. I know everyone has been worried about her and she;s very much loved by all on here, so will try to sign for the forum on Rachel's banner and Barbara Banke can see it when she gets it.
