Here is a replay of Kikka Sho (final leg of the Triple Crown) last year for comparison.
At a different racecourse. But this was also a marathon race 3000m, three-turn, right-handed.
Orfevre (#14 horse) was eager early, but Ikezoe found the solution.

Amusing given this conversation is the end of this final video you linked. Orfevre acted well during the race, but then you can see in the last five seconds of that video that he bolts on his rider and almost looked like he was heading for the far fence. Orfevre might just be the strongheaded type who's going to be trouble no matter the jockey.

He was relatively quiet and calm before the races.
But once he knows (or feels) that he already won the race, he seems to become selfish.

When he took over the lead before the final turn in the Hanshin Daishoten, he might have thought that the race was already over, and almost stopped racing.

The Japanese Triple Crown winner & HOY Orfevre will leave for France around August 25th.
In France, he will be stabled at Satoshi Kobayashi barn in Chantilly.
He is slated to run in the Prix Foy (Sep 6), then the ARC (Oct 7).
It's Christophe Soumillon who will pick up the mounts in France.

Had Beauty Parlour not left the yard a few days ago, Soumillon as Wildenstein’s jockey in France would have had to ride her in the Arc. Is her change of stables a few days before this announcement coincidence?

Wow I had never seen the footage of him after the Kikuka Sho. I didn't really understand why they kept saying it was "bakemono" but know I get it. Wow!

Orfevre is an interesting case. When I see him in the stables aver the race, he is SO calm and relaxed. It is hard to believe he could ever be so wild as he is after his races. Even with a dozen photographers swarming around him. He doesn't seem crazy.

I think Soumillon will be able to control him better. Some horses, like Tosen Reve, need a little extra something that a Japanese jockey just can't seem to bring out of them. I think there needs to be a study abroad program for young japanese jockeys in training. Where they go to another country and study for a year or more. There is no reason why Japanese jockeys can't learn to be as good as their European counterparts.

I still think the best is yet to come from this horse. He has a very euro style of running so I expect gallant efforts in Europe.

I can say he is one of the most stunning animals to be around. I think he knows how awesome he is.

Orfevre had his final workout in Japan this morning, before leaving for France.

Reigning horse of the year in Japan, Orfevre worked over half a mile with a stablemate covering the distance in 54.6 seconds, although his trainer Yasutoshi Ikee feels more work needs to be done in France to get his horse spot on for the Arc.

He said: "He moved well but the time was not good. I has asked to rider to ride 53 seconds for four furlongs so the exercise was too light. He will have to do some hard work in Chantilly before his prep race."

Today, Orfevre has settled in Satoshi Kobayashi's stable at Chantilly, France, after a 30 hours trip from his home at Ritto, Japan.

They say he is fine, even if he is a bit nervous, surrounded by many people.
He had no fever from the long travel.
