113 Handily ? Hmmm.
99% of all works in California are (H)andily just as 99% of all works on the East Coast are (B)reezing ... which essentially means "in hand, not being asked for everything they have".

No one has ever figured out why the California tracks do it different from all other tracks. It would be interesting to know the answer. Why has no one asked, or have they and I just missed the explanation.
Really ? Thanks Gin, were her prior 2 workouts handily ?

    Cry me a river ...

I could care less about someone's opinions--we have sensibly graduated from calling them facts--but the droning repetion of the same thing over and over is dissonance and brings nothing to the table .

Except repetition . Everyone heard you the first time .

Same shtick different forum . Needs some tweaking this broken record does .

It's a dirty job , but someone has to do it.

Susan is such a meanie, poor me ...

The question I have for many of you is a simple one. Let's pretend for a moment that you are Mr. Moss and your trainer comes to you and says, " look, to be honest she is not the same horse on dirt." What do you do ? Do you stay in California and run on familiar ground to get the 19th win or do you roll the dice and send her on dirt any way or do you do retire her ? What would you do ?

I would do what Mr. Moss is doing. Hide her in California run her against females a couple more times and then retire her. I can't see there being any chance he runs her against the boys in Churchill. It would be a disaster and tarnish her career. If she was going to take on Churchill and the BC she would have plans on dirt in June and July and she doesn't. There is nothing wrong with being a regional champ. Peppers Pride will tell you that.

    OK--Count Creativity--I will play ...

I am Jerry Moss, but those folk that are out of Razidine, forgot that my trainer already told me that my mare is better on dirt.

So I would say that my trainer already told me she is better on dirt .

To those same folk that run out of fingers and toes to count on, I would politely remind them that we are going for out 17th win, and that our untimate goal is to run in the Breeder's Cup Classic at Churchill on DIRT .

    Is that clear ???

I would also remind folks that so far our schedule from now to November is something that we may or may not know, and they don't know at all .

    Patience is a virtue .

The simple question has been given a simple CIVIL answer.

Debating this would indicate a simpleton .

Zenyatta ran just a couple of lengths ahead of average horses at the wire that G1 males would have beat by 10 to 15 lengths. Mr. Moss knows the math and I believe we will not see Zenyatta on dirt again.

Yeah, especially since she had her ears pinned and was all out with Smitty just wailing away at her. It wasn't like she won by one of largest margins ever or anything. Any time a horse faces inferior competition they MUST win by 15+ lengths.

    Insert eye rolling furball here.

For the record, I am not upset .

Those who dish it out , ocassionally need it thrown back .

Nearctic said it well, but SD just has a warped sense of humor--the other creature has no sense .

After answering a simple question with a simple answer, the poster insists on regurgitating the same old dogma AGAIN .

No one cares whether Drano thinks Zenyatta will run on dirt or not .

When the year is over , the subject can be revisted .

Look at the clock ! I know you're only suppose to talk about the clock when you are talking about Secretariat but the CLOCK does matter. When a horse that is running 150+ meets a horse running 147+ who do you think will win ? Let me know when she breaks 150 on dirt this year. If she was going to run in the BC what race would she enter to get ready for it ? Let me know so when she doesn't show up I can say seeeeee I told you !

If I were Mr. Moss and Mr. Shirreffs said that to me, I'd work all my big-money connections and send him to get his head checked by the best doctor out there, because clearly he'd be forgetting her two Grade I victories on the dirt - including one that came against a reigning Eclipse champion.

You're right the question was a simple one but it was not answered. The question was IF the trainer came to Mr. Moss after the Apple and said, "She is not the same horse on dirt." What would you do? That is the question. Don't alter it just answer it. IF you were Moss what would you do ???

The question exists in the landscape of your mind only . A question like that can not be asked, because there is no reason to pose it .

If you insist on this imaginary question, I will give you an imaginary answer .

I will say, " John, that Draynay blogger is just uncanny . I guess we have to accept his coronation of her as the best polycrap horse in history, and kiss his azz for good measure---as long as he takes his ball and goes home ."

    As I said--only a simpleton would debate this .

    You have, Gomer .
