A virus which affected the heart and lung tissue of Champion Pacer See You At Peelers has been discovered by vets...Her attempt last week to run in the Jugette set off the heart monitor she has been wearing during warmups since her recent unexplained performances...The good news is that it is possible that a short term course of meds can let her run again this year. Thank God the vets were able to diagnose her and treat this. Is this something very rare, like Uncle Mo's liver condition? How would she have contracted it?

good news that they have discovered her problem..i just hope she has suffered no ongoing damage

Horses have sufferred fatal arrythmias on the track.. Some even after Winning a race and then dropping.
IMO,She has not been herself for about 5 races..Even when she won a big stakes over Idyllic and company she seemed hesitant to get into her top gear but still won by 4..I wonder now what her heart rate had been in these last 5 races at peak bpm, 250? Im also curious how long it took to get back to normal after running...

Hope this filly recovers and comes back to herself. Seems to me her connections overlooked some things for her to be in this shape.

Crazy... I was unaware they had the vets monitoring her. After her first loss I didn't check up on her updates so I didn't know she wasn't doing well since.

Wishing Miss Peelers a swift recovery... I'm not into pacers, but I do have a soft spot for her.
