Thread: Hong Kong Racing

    Re: Hong Kong Racing

A long time back, I remember reading something about Western horses only being able to visit Hong Kong very briefly, else they were likely to get infected with/pick up something or other that was endemic to the area. Can anyone clarify what that was, what it would do, etc? Obviously there's many horses that are frequently or even all the time in Hong Kong.

Rulership(JPN), 2007H. King Kamehameha x Air Groove by Tony Bin, scored his first G1 victory impressively in the Audemars Piguet QEII CUP today.
That was a classy performance by Rulership.
Rispoli gave him a perfect ride, too.
Kudos to the trainer Katsuhiko Sumii.

Rispoli was doing his best Barzalona imitation at the end there...lol. Congrats to Rulership on the big win. Hoping he can continue to improve on the world stage and we see him in other big G1's. Anyone know what his future plans are? Arc?

    Re: Hong Kong Racing

Depends on how strong the dollar is over there as well. Though having been to the races in Hong Kong (which are an absolute MUST for all racing fans), they will probably be on top yet again dollarwise.

If you want to see the true art of gambling, spend a night at the races on Wednesday night at Happy Valley, and watch the Chinese go mad.

Or catch the jetboat down the South Sea of China to Macau, and see them go hardcore!

    From Brisnet

Foreign challengers Red Jazz (Johannesburg) and Ato (Royal Academy) will take a pass on their respective engagements in the Hong Kong International Races on December 9. British-based Red Jazz had a "bad scope," according to a tweet Wednesday from trainer Charlie Hils. His defection from the Group 1 Hong Kong Mile leaves a field of 12. Singapore speedster Ato will not take part in the Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint, leading ot a current list of 13 contenders for the 1200-meter contest.

Now, those are some nice fields. Go Cirrus and go Pagera. Hopefully The Fugue gets a better trip here, and I didn't even know Chinchon was still running...

    I love these globetrotting types.
