    I'd like that too.

I wonder if her new colt might change their mind and send her back to Bernardini. (If they are not already.) If he's exceptional, perhaps they will. I like the cross, although MDO was my first choice.

Here's hoping for Giant's Causeway. I think Zenyatta's 1/2 bro Souper Spectacular by GC is a nice horse, if they could keep him sound.

Was she even bred last year? I know she foaled a STS foal last year but nothing was reported about her next mating until now you've mentioned this one.

Thanks tachyon - love this match... Would you happen to have any information on her foals since she's been in Japan?

Going back to Bernardini is my first guess. That said, for something a bit different, I'll go out on a limb and say Tapit may be a consideration. The nick isn't all that good but he'd definitely put some earlier development into her, he's thrown good ones on dirt, turf and synthetic plus the Mosses do have a nice one in Zazu.

Of course, I'm one of the few that just isn't all that impressed by Medaglia D'Oro...love Rachel so it's hard to explain but, yeah, other than her, I consider him useful at best....

    You are welcome, Lakeway!

Novemver Slew's 2006 colt Hiraboku Wild(JPN)(by Wild Rush) scored his second stakes victory in the Polaris Stakes 1400m dirt Hanshin 11R yesterday!

    Hiraboku Wild: #5 horse

And here's a pick of November Slew's 2012, full brother to Hiraboku Wild.

(born Jan 27th at Chiyoda Farm)

Interesting markings on that 2012 colt. He's cute.

That's fair, but consider that MDO was getting "decent" mares before Rachel became a major runner. His 2006 book was good, his 2007 crop was really small, 2008 and 2009 weren't really much better... Rachel became a really big deal after the breeding season in 2009, so MDO really started getting super high caliber mares in 2010, to be foaled in 2011. That's the crop I'm really looking forward to.

Really small? MDO's value was established and the reason he sold to Darley for such an outstanding sum - reported to be at least 48 million - was partly due to the fact that he was bred to large and fairly decent quality books due to free breeding seasons given away by Stonewall 2006-2009 to graded stakes winners and producers. He won't go as cold as most young studs do off 3rd, 4th, 5th years, his smallest book (as would stand to any reason) was 2008, before 2 yr olds hit the track. His largest was, in fact, 2009.

    His books:

    Mares Bred/Live Foal Reports:

    2005 184 156 Hill n Dale
    2006 154 103 Stonewall
    2007 153 112 Stonewall
    2008 114 87 Stonewall
2009 205 163 Stonewall/Darley (moved in mid June with a few covers left)
    2010 170 128 Darley 100k (spectacular book)
    2011 156 mares bred Darley

I have wondered about Z going to Tapit or GC, but I hope MDO is in the mix. Would worry about a Tapit/Z baby being wound too tight.
