Nice article on Gulfnews.com about The Factor.
The speed Factor makes him hard to beat
The colt is at his best over 1,400 metres, a factor that puts him in the reckoning for over 1,200 at MeydanNewmarket, England: North American stables have a terrific record in the big sprint on World Cup night, the Golden Shaheen (G1) having provided nine of the last 12 winners of the race. This stat is obviously influenced by the years on dirt track, which is the preferred surface in the USA, at Nad Al Sheba, but the fact that the race is now run around a turn is in favour of American sprinters.
One-turn sprints, that's what they are used to, and that's what they are best at. The Factor, trained by dual World Cup winning handler Bob Baffert, is a strong contender. He is a fast horse who was taken off the Kentucky Derby trail last spring, and has since developed into a world class speed merchant. The one factor against the colt is that he is at his absolute best over 1,400 metres, but he is a quick starter and capable of blistering early speed, so will certainly be competitive over 1,200 at Meydan.............................

Genten(white and red) and Eishin Flash at Meydan on 27th March
Transcend
Smart Falcon and A Shin Virgo
Thank you for sharing your videos of the Japanese horses training at Meydan. Eishan Flash looks like a big, powerful black monster next to Genten who will not be 3 until next month. Can you tell me if this is Genten.s regular exercise rider and if that is Mr. Yahagi with the hat, or the identities of the other Japanese horsemen?

I can't recognize Genten's exercise rider, but the man in the hat (around 0.50 sec) is certainly Mr Yahagi. As you see, their blousons and Genten's bandages are all coordinated in white and red which is his stable's 'image colour.' The reason is:
'This is partly because the vivid colour contrast in bandages will help us not to overlook changes from his normal walks and to see clearly when the horse changes the lead...These―including the principle of originally mixed forage fed anytime anywhere―may seem trifle, but it is significant that we established them as our stable's system at the outset.' (excerpts from a book by the trainer)
Eishin Flash is a beautiful horse. A man standing in the middle (around 1min) lifting his hand in greeting is Mr Fujiwara who is his trainer. He used to be a well-known champion rider in his university days.
EF in a workout with Uichi Fukunaga, the current leading jockey in the JRA, aboard on 28th March. The man in a black vest talking to the jockey is the trainer.
Lucky Chappy dropped his rider this morning. Motion was there, but it was Bill Mott who caught him. And everybody's fine.![]()
