Why? Is it just obvious because Pletcher never wheels them back that fast?

She is most likely running in Phipps at Belmont, then Saratoga. He always said he would nominate her to AB in case she needed more time, so he must have followed through. I don't think he would run her there if Grace and Plum dropped out.

Too bad. It's her favorite distance.

I would have loved to see her go there instead of last weekend. But she loves GP and AB looks much tougher.

No doubt the AB will be much tougher, but G1 vs. G3. C'est la vie. Not my horse.

But she is not for sale and has already won a Gr. 1. But I agree, I'd like to have seen her go there, but my guess is Pletcher was afraid she would bounce off first effort and she couldn't afford to do so against Grace and Plum.

I think Maria is the one filly/mare that can give Grace competition. I hope they both stay healthy all year.

    From Brisnet

At Belmont, Grade 1 queen Awesome Maria (Maria's Mon), who saw her six-race win streak snapped when third in the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps, blitzed four furlongs in a bullet :47 1/5. The Grade 2 Delaware Handicap on July 21 and the Grade 2 Molly Pitcher on July 29 are under consideration.

I'm guessing she goes next in the Molly Pitcher at Monmouth.

At Saratoga, Grade 1 queen Awesome Maria (Maria's Mon) breezed five panels in 1:00 ahead of a possible tilt at the Del 'Cap. The Pletcher mare was just upset as the 3-5 favorite in her title defense in the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps Handicap, where she could do no better than third.
