Love seeing all of the pics and videos, however, you have the same pic for Red Davis and Rose Kingdom. (yeah, it's been a long week, lol).Whoever this horse is, very nice, looks all business. And Earnestly has the Quality Road beautiful mane thing going.

Darn, I'm going to miss it. Maybe if I figure out this DVR stuff I could chatch the US broadcast when I get home from the casino the next day.

Really hope that Pisa can come back here with another win. He really doesn't have a turn of foot, more of a grinder and hope that Mirco rides the same race as last year with the draw. This has to be one of the best Arima Kinen fields I have seen in a very long time.

Oops. Thanks serenassong for pointing out that. I have now replaced Rose Kingdom's photo.
P.S. Red Davis is the only gelding in this filed.

    Agreed!
As for Victoire Pisa, I do believe that Nakayama Course suits his running style. If only he is in his last year's form, he will be a major threat.

    P.S.
Meiner Kitz had been nominated to this race but now out due to his health condition -- he bled after his workout.

Gee what an excellent field. Being Christmas Day though, I have a feeling it won't be broadcast in Australia

Pelusa out with a stone bruise. Looking back over the years it is not uncommon for horses to be withdrawn on day before or day of this race.
Now 13 runners for this year's AK.

Re: The Arima Kinen (G1) (Dec 25)

Buena Vista may hot have drawn the best bariier for the closers like her.
I wonder how Iwata will swing her out to give her full of run in the short stretch at Nakayama, especially if a slow pace scenario develops and all horses go in a tight pack.
I guess that the jockey Tetsuzo Sato (on Earnestly, who is expetced to race upfront) will be a key man in this race.
Victoire Pisa got an ideal barrier, if he can make a good break from the gate.
Orfevre must have nothing to worry about going from the best barrier for him.

Re: The Arima Kinen (G1) (Dec 25)

BV drawing gate 1 is certainly not the most desirable but 2500m and only 12 other horses should give him time to make a move on her. All the stats over last 10 years has me not being able to separate BV or Orfevre but leaning to the mare with Orf taking on older horses for the 1st time. Tosen Jordan, Earnestly and VP for the placings.
