To celebrate Bodexpress' adventure today, let's all recall the greatest riderless horse race of the modern era: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN2bG90Qxdc
No no. That would be the horse who beat NATIVE DIVER in one of his Hollywood GCs.

Re: Maryland, My Oh My, Maryland

"The study envisions a partitioning of the land owned by the track to enable redevelopment of portions of the property for residential, retail, and commercial uses" I thought I heard on the radio that they'd be "redeveloping" some of the surrounding area. Pimlico is cramped enough without shoving mo...

Re: Accelerate vs Justify HOTY

Don't care that Justify is undefeated, because he only raced 6 times. So that doesn't count. He's also not the only undefeated TC winner, if he is, then Slew is too. He has 4 G1s to his resume, but all in restricted company. If those 3 G1s wouldn't be called the Triple Crown, there wouldn't even be...

Re: Accelerate vs Justify HOTY

Justify was very good, but his schedule was restricted in time duration, and also in class - basically he beat 3yos.

Accelerate is too good in his more open division and schedule duration to be denied.

But he will be denied, because "TC Winners" always win it.

Oh no. So sad. But I was afraid of that when I watched the race today. That "bobble" looked like a break-type of bobble.

Nobody's mentioned Best Pal? Didn't he become a training partner/trainer's horse?

Re: Who let Presious Passion back onto the track?

Pretty cool, son of the great English Channel (another one who was "rank" and loved pulling up the head). Not quite as splayed out or record-setting, but yes, much like it. The thing about PP was that set a trend. Next thing you know every top turf horse is trying to run away with it. I think they'v...

Re: Pimlico likely needs 'complete rebuild' to keep Preaknes

*sigh* here we go again. Every year, EVERYone on every news outlet somehow starts talking about racing - in terms of how bad Pimlico is that the Preakness is in jeopardy. How long have we been doing this? This morning I called into the local radio show and gave my brief view. I would like to keep it...

Re: Arrogate vs American Pharoah

I think Arrogate, but not sure it would be any kind of blow-out. Pharoah really always managed to be there. The truth is very recently, we have been blessed with some super stars. These 2, and California Chrome (I was surprised he was better than I thought, after the TC year). Never mind the wonderf...

Beyer SFs this year - did something change?

My God, the BSFs this year seem to all be low-class. Not even just a few above 110? Unbelievable.

Did something change in their analysis system?

Or are all the horses really this slow (or lazy, if you wish)?

Re: BH Poll: Rank the TC Winners...

Very cool. It can still be hard but is easier than "greatest of all" rankings. I'm giving a shout out to Barton, one of the old horses often ranked low/last really only because they are unknown (age bias) and unheralded. FYI in hopes a better view can be taken. Info from my website: Overall record: ...

Re: Greatest Horses of the 20th and 21st Centuries

Ruffian suffers from Martyr Syndrome.    I'll argue to my last breath that Dark Mirage (forgotten and/or unknown to most of you?) was better than Ruffian, but in my waking,semi-coherent life I think some of those Calumet fillies from the 40s and 50s would have crushed b...
