Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

Did Saratoga not run the hurdle stake today? It was supposed to be the 1st race but, when I checked DRF Results to see how Sportswear did, the Results start with Race 2. Nothing for Race 1. :?

Re: Across the pond

Japan has become one of the best 3yo colts O'Brien has had in recent years. IMHO, he may turn out to be Enable's biggest threat in the Arc.

Game Winner is out of the Travers with a virus as well, which Baffert said was going around his barn. Is Omaha Beach stabled near the Baffert barn; could it be the same virus?

The race was impacted by heavy rain, but Dunbar Road was still best. :D

Those are a couple of blue-blooded boys there, and the grey definitely looks like a Tapit. 8-) Are they two-year-olds, or older?
Thanks for the cool photo.

Katmandu, you beat me to it with Presious Passion 's extraordinary effort in the BC Turf! Thank you for that link. I loved that big, headstrong chestnut, and he made two-time winner Conduit get down on his belly to get by him. I hope PP is belly-deep in good grass now and enjoying a long, happy reti...

I don't love the way Tapwrit looks. Maybe it's the way his spots/dapples fall, but his shoulder muscles look weak.
AP, on the other hand, looks like he could be ready to go back into training with very little work. What a perfect TB. :D

Doug seems to have a soft spot for high-class retired geldings like Interpol and Lava Man. Maybe it makes his trainees feel like they have to live up to their escorts, especially if their 'pony' looks like he could outrun them. Baffert, on the other hand, apparently likes to give his horses a ...

There are good horses on that list, but I guess that the loss of 2012 3yo Champion Filly Questing hits home. I hope she had some nice foals. Did any of the racing sites ever mention the deaths of those horses? I just checked Bloodhorse, and there doesn't seem to be any mention of Questing's passing....

It sure looks like Shadai made a very smart investment when they acquired the breeding rights to B&M. He may be one of the best sons Giant's Causeway ever had, and this horse came along near the end of his stud career. Saved the best for last? I think he stands a very good chance to take the BC Turf...

I know she had a big weight break (only 114 lbs.), but she sure looked good. I was a big fan of her sire, Get Stormy (AKA Clyde), so I'd love to see her follow in the horseshoes of mares like Tepin and Goldikova to win The Mile. :D
