Re: 2019 Eclipse Awards-Predictions?

Champ 2yo Female:
Horse: British Idiom
Reason: 2 Grade 1 wins, won the end of year championship. Think she's pretty much a lock.

Bast took the G1 Starlet at Los Al today, giving her three G1s for the year. Doesn't that put her in the conversation?

Re: Stallion News

Both Old Topper and Sea of Secrets are senior stallions, so that's no surprise...but I'm really sorry to see Coil on that list. :( I'd so hoped he would be that successful sire son that Point Given hasn't had. I wonder if they've completely given up on him and he'll be gelded, or if they'll wait and...

Re: Stallion News

Good for Declaration of War, although the grey colt looks a lot more like his dam, the MSP Tapit mare Tap Softly. ;)

That's probably not going to help Jerry's legal efforts to get back in to Santa Anita or other tracks that have banned him. :(

Re: G1 Clark Today $600,000

Is Tom’s D’Etat from the last (or one of the last) crops by the late Smart Strike? I know it took the 6yo a while to become a G1 horse but, with his pedigree, I hope he finds a home at a farm when he retires.

Re: California Chrome to Japan

While I also wish 'Chrome had stayed here and had success, I'm kind of excited about Japan's committed interest in him. I've come to have great respect for the Japanese eye for breeding stock. It seems like every time I read a race result from Japan, the dams of the top runners are often American ra...

Polish-bred Tunis (Estejo).

Wow. What a handsome horse, and his sort of dappled grey, with the black points, mane and eye, is just perfect...IMHO. ;) .

Curlin? :? Because they're tired of getting those good Tapit runners?

Re: Donnacha O'Brien turns to training

He's retiring at 21!? wow. If he isn't battling weight and height like Joseph, it's hard to imagine a jock that young ( with two riding titles to prove he's actually a really good rider ) calling a halt to his career. Well, I wish him the best; his dad and bro should be pretty good advisors.

If he really said that, that a-hole needs Communist Chinese labor camp-level mental 'reeducation.'

Re: Declaration of War

I have been a fan of this horse ever since he won the 2013 Juddmonte International, and his close 3rd in the 2013 BC Classic proved that he was also excellent on the dirt. He's a gorgeous, versatile horse, and I've hoped that he would be a worthy heir to the Danzig line. It would be a shame if he di...

I hate ALL the Photoshop-outlined portraits, but Talismanic's has to be the worst. Who thought it was a good idea to outline on a white background a horse with that much white? He could have Clydesdale-length feathers on his front legs, but who can tell?

Re: Photos/News about Broodmares

Shameful , the dam of 2yo Filly and Champion Female Sprinter Indian Blessing, has been moved to Lazy E Ranch in Oklahoma. After the 20yo mare had foaling problems this past spring, her owner decided to only let the mare continue to produce foals via embryo transfer. So, she will bred ( via AI, I'm ...
