Re: Horses with good amount of images

Not a lot of white, but how about the Amazon, Zenyatta? Or maybe the flashy chestnuts, Curlin or California Chrome?

Re: Standout Losing Efforts

Congaree and Milwaukee Brew were both winners in the 2003 Santa Anita Handicap https://youtu.be/daiO6JIKtyk

And probably the most respectable loser (in my eyes) in the 2010 Vanity Handicap. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched the stretch run for this one.

A fantastic picture by Jim Leuenberger over at DRF (article here: https://www.drf.com/news/preview/country-house-wins-kentucky-derby-dq-maximum-security?type= ) showing how extensively War of Will was impeded. Extraordinary athletcisim on his part to stay on his feet. https://www.drf.com/sites/defa...

What if Maximum Security ends up pulling off the Preakness and Belmont. We’ll be so confused.

When was the last Derby broadcast with the old crew (Tom Hammond). I find myself missing them this year.

The great 2009 Derby. This is, without a trace of sarcasm, my favorite Derby ever.
So fun and crazy! I love watching that close up of Borel’s boot literally scraping against the tail. I can’t find it on YouTube.

PETA has posted the video of the breakdown on their facebook page, with a front row view of the aftermath. I hadn’t seen the race yet, and I’ve decided I didn’t need to see it. Jeez.

Re: Stallion News

Heartbreaking about Pioneer. Seems just yesterday he was a promising 3-year-old on the Derby trail. They think he died of a ruptured aorta. That can happen to any human and animal. It happened to my beloved little Kitty just before Christmas 2017...in fact, only two days after the devastating San L...

Re: Best race calls ever

I like the 2010 Vanity with Zenyatta and St Trinians, simply because of the fellow Zenyatta-fan/racecaller losing his mind because Zenyatta was desperately trying to catch a gutsy St Trinians before it was too late. He echoed what we were all feeling as the wire was rapidly approaching. https://yout...

You

I just watched the Test Stakes (and learned Carson Hollow died the following year) and it made me want to figure out where You ended up. Looking at Pedigree Query I see she last had a foal a few years ago but is she still alive? It’s difficult finding information about her just because of her name.

From what I understand, it wasn’t even the cancer. I mean, it was but wasn’t. Stage 1 breast cancer - so they caught it early and prognosis was likely good. Sepsis post surgery took her. I’m not trying to downplay her cancer at all - I just want to push the awareness of what complications can arise...

Re: Day 2 BC broadcast follow along and discuss

I don't have to watch the rest of the races to know that this is my favourite race. I wanted it for Edgar Prado, one of the classiest, humblest great riders, but then I saw the story on the connections. Someone said this'll make a great movie, and yes, it has to happen. I'll settle with a book, thou...
