Re: Waiting for news on ...

In the 5th on Aug 31st at Assiniboia, Fried Pickles was a DNF: 'fractious in the gate, back early, faded, eased final turn'. I know she's just a $2500 claimer, but does anyone know her fate? There isn't a death report on file at the JC. That doesn't necessarily mean she's not dead.. Sometime ...

Re: 2018 names

There was a horse that Jack Van Berg had years ago that raced a few times with the name Lord Phumducker. His name was subsequently changed to Lord Duckworth. It may be apocryphal, but I had heard some announcers—Trevor Denman being prominent—complained about the horse’s original name. Is there a st...

Re: 2018 names

So she was named Columbine is Sad before the shooting? Yep There also was a horse named Fozzie Bear. The Muppets people found out about it and made them change the name. He became Bold Revenue. https://ontarioracing.com/Industry/News-and-Racing-Results/For-the-Love-of-Racing/The-Horse-That-Changed-...

Re: Colerful Chrome

I assume that people are acting like they own her because they took the 'People's Horse' thing literally and believe they do own her. I hope she makes a lovely riding horse for somebody and glad they aren't pushing her into something she wouldn't be successful at. From the People's Horse website " ...

Elfin Queen f. American Pharoah x Pretty N Smart

I'm a bit hesitant to post the Ballydoyle names because they like to change them around.
I just checked on this horse today. The BC nomination checker shows her as unnamed. The Jockey Club shows Elfin Queen as submitted, but not yet accepted.

March to the Arch (Arch-Daveron) and Global Access (Giant's Causeway-Daveron) both won races on the Florida Cup card at Tampa Bay Downs. Global Access won the Sophomore Turf Stakes and March to the Arch won the Turf Classic.

Re: Matings 2019

A friend said she heard a rumor that Zenyatta was bred to Union Rags. As much as I love Rags that seems like an odd choice. Anyone out there know anything? A few posters on The Bloodhorse magazine have said she is going to Candy Ride. That makes more sense than Union Rags. Looking at all the "in ho...

Re: 2019 Dubai World Cup Carnival

On March 15 Baffert said Dabster was going to the DWC. Yet every article I read listing the US horses for the DWC none of them list Dabster. Did something change? Is Dabster going or not? I googled "Dabster Dubai World Cup" and the only things that come up are the articles from March 15 with Baffert...

Re: Matings 2019

What makes this odd? I'm not keen on the ins and outs of horse match making. It seems like an odd choice because Union Rags hasn't exactly been a 'big horse' sire. He's had some very useful horses that seemed to be on the edge of big things yet they never really panned out. Paradise Woods, Catalina...

Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

Other USA guys I can think of are All Included and Current , although IIRC only Current's mane is blonde. Include apparently carries a gene for flaxen and several of his kiddos have gulastra plumes and special hair. There was a horse who ran in SoCal that had a flaxen mane and tail. IIRC his name w...
