Re: The Cigar Mile

I meant more like standout horses, of course you have to be a good horse (usually) to run in a Grade 1.

I thought Spun to Run was aiming for this too?
He’s listed above in the probables by his Hip hop name S2R.😉
Ah ok! I’m just surprised people are saying Maximum Security is the only good horse here. Spun to Run won the BC and beat Omaha Beach, he’s very good competition for Maximum Securtiy.

Re: 2020 Matings

Wouldn't it be funny if the resulting foal ends up being a Triple Crown winner or something?

But seriously I do agree that Medaglia d'Oro would have been a far better choice.

Beholder ---> Medaglia d'Oro
It’s actually Bolt d’Oro :|
Wait, what? I swear the Instragram post said Medaglia d'Oro.
Confirmed on Twitter, it's definitely Bolt d'Oro

Re: Clever Names for horses

I just found this out today and it definitely gave me a good laugh! I wager some of you already know the story of Potoooooooo . From Wikipedia: The origin of his name has several different versions. According to the most common, Abingdon intended to call the young colt "Potato" and instructed the st...

Maximum Security is targeting the Cigar Mile. My question for you all:

If he wins, would you vote him champion three-year-old?
Yes definitely, he would have the most Grade 1 wins for a 3yo male and he would prove that he can win a Grade 1 against his elders.

Re: 2019 Two-Year-Olds

Independence Hall was super impressive, receiving a 101 Beyer in winning the Nashua. Other than ducking out a bit in the stretch, he looked great as he closed the final 1/4-mile in 24 and 2. He also appears to be long in body and has Seattle Slew both top and bottom in his pedigree. The sky's the l...

Re: Vox populi voting open

IMO Belvoir Bay will get it. Maximum Security would have gotten sympathy votes had it not been for Gary West’s outburst after the Derby. I understood his frustration but he just needed to stay classy about it, which he certainly did not do. I really like Maximum Security but I wish he had different ...

Re: 2019 Fasig-Tipton November Sale

I’m quite intrigued to see how Mastery does as a sire in the future. His two weanling colts sold today for $240,00 and $375,000.
