Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

Colt by Zoustar out of Dream Cirque (Dream Ahead) has a nice tail. He was consigned by Aquis Farm at the 2020 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and sold for A$80K. https://aquisfarm.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/LOT-108-Zoustar-x-Dream-Cirque_web.jpg https://aquisfarm.com/sales/2020-inglis-classic-year...

What a beautiful head he has! (Or maybe I am simply partial to bays?)
He does seem to have a very refined head.

Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

Thanks for digging up all of these photos of Ambiguity and her immediate family, everyone. I just assumed she was a genetic anomaly but it's been quite incredible to see all the white and blue eyes on the dam, the half-sister, offspring, etc. :) There was a NYRA runner with a big blaze and one blue...

Re: Horrible Names For Horses

i guess if you really love chicken liver it's ok but "Sam's Chicken Liver" sounded like a good candidate for this thread. whatever floats your boat... also i guess we're only going for current horses, not any from the past, but it's too late for me to go back and delete my submission!...

Re: New Conformation Photos

Perhaps I missed it, but went back a few pages and did not see this news posted. Shackleford has been sold to stand in South Korea: https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/237833/shackleford-sold-to-stand-at-stud-in-korea It was posted the day it was announced, in the Stallion News thread....

His topline and tail set are pretty reminiscent of his Arabian ancestors, as well.
He's a gorgeous steed. 8-)

Agreed; him purdy. :D

Re: New Conformation Photos

LOL I read that as Silver ware and expected to scroll up (I'm reading from most recent first) to see a gorgeous grey... not displeased by the hunka hunka bay boy at all, though. His sire Silver Frost (IRE) certainly fits the first description. http://babolnamenes.hu/wp-content/uploads/2018/11...

Re: California Chrome to Japan

There is one thing to be sad about your favorite horse being sent where you cannot visit them, it's another to degrade the country that is buying them, threaten the old owners, etc. I'd be more considerate of their emotions if they actually were rational in their reactions and didn't act as though ...

Re: California Chrome to Japan

Let me first say that I have great respect for the Japanese and their culture. I worked most of my career for Nissan and then Toyota at their national headquarters in the Los Angeles area before each company moved their HQ to other states. Let me also say that I fully understand the business aspect...

Re: Breeders Cup Discussion?

Whips and whipping are a necessity. They help guide the horse as well as urge it to speed. Leave their use to the jocks, not some idiot overseer.

Someone will absorb the cost of the increased medical tests. Who do you think that will be, and who do you think will fold up shop first?
