Re: Racing in Japan

Another Truth (I'll Have Another x Kyoei Truth, by Fuji Kiseki) won the G2 Diolite Kinen at Funabashi. This race has been won by K T Brave, Chrysolite, Smart Falcon, etc. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ES15X_AUwAE2qVT?format=jpg&name=medium https://twitter.com/j_taro/status/1237779450919440384 Very ni...

Re: FBI raid at Calder

We really need more trainers like Graham Motion. I wish there was more people sending their horses to him. I think he's a good trainer with good ethics and he did great with Animal Kingdom.

Re: FBI raid at Calder

Didn't John Servis have a clenbuterol positive with Cathryn Sophia? I wonder how hard the feds have looked into him. Honestly, this kind of crap is why I wasn't too miffed about Chrome going to Japan. At least there is more likely a level playing field there. And oh yeah, who doesn't now wonder if ...

Re: FBI raid at Calder

If sh*t hits the fan with Baffert, then how do we view Pharoah and Justify? As an industry, no idea. Personally, it probably won't change much for me as I already assume they were all on something (along with many great racehorses of the past, and pretty much all Baffert superstars). Until there ar...

Re: Jason Servos, Navarro, 27 others investigated

Two comments: an indictment is not evidence and it certainly isn't proof. It only sets out what the prosecutors hope to prove. As a rule (certainly in California) there is no obligation to present exculpatory evidence to the grand jurors, only to suggest to the grand jurors that they can ask for mo...

Very well said.

The industry needs a big spring cleaning.

If sh*t hits the fan with Baffert, then how do we view Pharoah and Justify? If it's the case, then: I think American Pharoah is still a great horse. He was talented, you could definitely see it. And his offspring proves it, he had a great first season. Justify though... He was unsound and I don't t...

Re: FBI raid at Calder

Wow, this is huge. I was a big fan of Maximum Security. I'm a little bummed out now but I think the right decision would be to disqualify him from all the races he won and do the same with all the horses involved. Maximum Security might have won some races but I don't think he would have been ...

Re: The rise of Sunday Silence

Seeing a lot of (nice) ads for Yoshida and I gotta say it's very amusing and ironic to see American breeders be like "Hey guys look! SUNDAY SILENCE BLOODLINE!!!!!" After the Great American Mistake of 1990. This is kinda funny indeed :D And I'm guessing something similar is bound to happens soon wit...

Almond Eye looked very tired at the end. Apparently 2500m is too long for her  Another great mare won, congrats to Lys Gracieux! Found a replay... what a magnificent run by Lys Gracieux. Sired by an Arima Kinen winner, now one herself. And the global campaign she had, too... what a mare. Wow. ...

Last night I had a dream about Almond Eye winning the Arima Kinen. Let's hope it's a dream that will come true

She might have become my favorite Japanese racehorse ever with Orfevre.
