Re: Streaming Video of Races

I don't know who Chris is, but I know that those of you bickering with him/her can easily be considered equal opportunity offenders when it comes to filling these pages with off topic crap. Is there not a sub-forum here where you can take it so the rest of us can safely ignore you?

Re: I Am Horse Racing

One of the same people that started the similarly frivolous social media campaign a few years ago with images of people kissing/hugging horses. This is when it really shows that so many racing people got their jobs from who they know, not what they know. Damage control is best done by professionals...

Re: Santa Anita 2019

Yes, any response involving PETA should include the sentence "PETA should stick to what they know best -- stealing children's pets and killing them". It's suicide to give them any legitimacy, because they have no agenda that does not include the destruction of animal sport in its entirety. https://w...

Re: Santa Anita 2019

Alternatively, am I the only one who was bothered by the #IAmHorseRacing thing? This is an industry response to an ugly moment? I can fully understand what it's like for people to think you're something you're not. Most people get paid literally nothing and work long hours for crap benefits to work...

Re: Santa Anita 2019

.....and I guess it's important to mention for the 117th time that we're fighting a Public Perception Problem first and foremost. It really isn't about if the whip hurts the horse or not, it's about the perception of the jockey and the visible whipping. Madeline A. emphasized the issue by commentin...

Damn
I thought he gave a good account of himself though! Laid back, took some dirt, and almost got there in the end. He's got a bright future.
He was my top pick after that blowout at Golden Gate and I liked what I saw today, given the questions about dirt.

May they all stay healthy now!

You've done an amazing job with this precious old guy. Pix? I don’t know how to put pictures on here anymore. I get to the point where they’re to be posted and I get an error message stating that there is not enough space. Send them to me by email to kate@katewerk.com I'll put them on my server and...

10yo h Vedelago (Red Clubs - Queen Shy, by Marju), 1st at Turfway Park (3/2/19). 50 - 13-5-6, $512,071.
How did an Irish-bred Italian G1 winner wind up in $5k claiming races at Turfway? And intact, no less.
His pedigree, for curiosity's sake.

He sure looks black, but he’s registered as dark bay/brown with the Jockey Club:

Thunder Snow second in return; Kentucky Oaks candidate Divine Image thrashes boys in Dubai Thunder Snow was in a good stalking spot early, and advanced turning for home, but couldn’t lift any further in the about 1 1/4-mile affair. As Capezzano put the race away in the stretch, Thunder Snow dropped ...

I thought the cushion track was giving rise a lot soft tissue injuries or is this just a case of revisionist memory To my memory it was a definitely a popular talking point back when it was at Santa Anita, although I'm not sure any studies were done and I don't know if similar concerns exist at cur...

Re: The WAR HORSE Chronicles

Along with Hogy , another old millionaire running this weekend is 11yo Slim Shadey , seeing if he can "right the ship" at Gulfstream in a claiming race. His last few races haven't been the best and I'm just guessing that if he does not have a rejuvenation of the sap pretty quick, he can start plann...
