Re: Matings 2019

I see that Orfevre had a drop from 136 to 52. Does that indicate some disappointment in his foals? :? Orfevre(JPN), 3rd crop sire, managed to sire two G1 winners (2yo champ filly Lucky Lilac and Satsuki Sho winner Epoca d'Oro) from his first crop. But his winners-to-runners ratio in JRA for his fir...

Re: 2019 Keeneland September

Bayerns must not look like much or have female pedigree to support them. 4 offered, 3 of them sold for $3500 or less I remember how disappointed potential buyers were at how the initial Take Charge Indy's looked..... All they did was run. You'd think people would learn not to bail on a stallion at ...

I have a hunch the same family will get the trophy. As long as the engraver gets the head’s up, all will be good. Gary & Mary only need to keep a straight course to the podium.😉

Re: The Arlington Million

Yeah why is the Secretariat a mile race now? I don't remember hearing anything about it being shortened. I guess to attract Euros since the mile is their "premiere distance". When the NYRA created the Turf Trinity this year...they fixed the race distances to match the distances the match the Triple...

I watched the YouTube coverage of the sale and I must say Drefong is throwing some surprisingly nice looking offspring. His colt out of Admire Sceptre fetched $2,278,000 (yes, you read that right) and he was very well supported by buyers, with another colt selling for over $750,000.

Re: Baltimore vs. Stronach Group

IMHO, any hope that the Preakness might stay at Pimlico was broken when most of the bathrooms broke. Turning your grandstand restrooms into stinking, spurting cesspools will not win any fans. :( And that's why Stronach let things deteriorate to that point last weekend....to make a point...an...

Re: Appeal denied

I imagine West may be a little peeved. Coolmore is probably not camped out in his front yard making $40,000,000 offers or more for the privilege of standing MS at stud. All that cash evaporated with the stewards decision. There was no planet in the solar system where Coolmore was going to offer $40...

I think we all know there are things we are not doing very well. It seems there is no agreement on what to do to fix problems so we just stay with the status quo. That's not going to work anymore. Let's get rid of the whip. Horrible optics. Off-putting to any would be new fans (if there are any lef...

It was discontinued effective last year. Its always interesting to see how races fall in and out of favor. If that race wasn’t run on what is essentially a bullring, it would probably still be around. When CDI restructured the points a couple of years ago, the race was doomed. Most top trainers jus...
